Were I there as another guest and saw this (because others had to have seen it), I would have been a witness without ever letting on that I was a Cast Member (complete with paying full price for the meal at that point), then when the time came, I would feel unsafe having my wife in the park (who would suddenly be pregnant) with these little hoodlums, and ask that they be thrown out for our and other peoples' safety. Having been to character meals, I know that when a character comes into the room, they are the center of attention. How did people in the same room not notice... or worse, not care... that Donald was being attacked? With exception of anyone who was out getting their food, or honestly didn't see it happen, that room was chock full of SG's that morning. Makes me sick to think I probably took some of them on Safari and gave them a good show.

Keep your cameras rolling, folks. Almost everything that happens on Disney property gets recorded by someone's camera. If you have one along and see a character get attacked, it's time to start taking video or pictures, anything you can to protect the characters, or any other Cast Member they might attack.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

That sounds like Disney, always rewarding the wrong people. I know they aim to please but sometimes you would like to see these kinds of people to be shown to the nearest exit, maybe it will put a red flag up for the rest of the stupid parents out there with their unruly kids that they failed to raise correctly

So let me get this straight... I go to Disney, I keep my hands, head and feet inside all moving vehicles, I don't punch any of the characters, and I listen to the instructions that CMs tell everyone and in general I try to be courteous and respectful but I don't get a free meal nor do I get to be the guest of honor at a parade.

If I was to run amok, spit on people, beat up characters and be rude Disney will comp my meals and treat me like Disney royalty.

I guess I'm not seeing the logic behind that.

Didn't the infamous Tigger family get royal treatment after that incident too? I remember reading it and being utterly appalled that Disney would act so wimpishly.

I suppose I'm asking the wrong group of people here but...why would anyone want to punch a character?

I can understand a very small child (Let's say 3 or 4) who gets scared and reacts. As a parent I would also tell my child that while there's nothing to be afraid of, they shouldn't have punched Tigger. What I don't understand is someone older, 8 or 80 years old. Most of the time I don't think it's a fearful reaction but it seems...malicious.

I just don't get it. If I ever did that my parents would have tanned my hide.

True, why would any kid scream into the ear of a tour driver? Ask BW!

Its for attention, nothing more. And it is learned by seeing violence that has no consequences (umm, Video games?) and parents don't correct them as to what is and is not socially acceptble behaviour.

Thats why when real world stuff happens, a lot people, including adults, cannot comprehend (emotionally) that people can be hurt by such things.

Its called desentization. I have seen it in a lot of situations, where people cannot believe that bad stuff is happening to them as a result of their own actions.

Growing up, there are those of us who played on the jungle gym and played with Barbies and there are those of us who burn ants and torment the neighborhood cat.

They should arrest kids who harass characters and send them to guantanamo bay for being suspected terrorists. Hmmm... yes... If disney can send a train to the Grand Canyon and back in time, this story should be easy to spin...

But I think that those kids were probably trying to push the limits, see how far they could go, considering they're in a different place and their parents won't discipline them and they're probably hip to the fact that 6-foot tall ducks in sailor suits aren't "real".

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

If I had been another guest nearby, I would have told the powers that be that gave them all the freebies what I saw and that indeed it was bad behavior on the part of the kids AND the lousy parents! I bet they tell their friends that they got showered with freebies all because their kids beat the stuffing outa Donald Duck, encouraging more of their SG friends to come to WDW and beat up characters! I can see it now...

"But our friends kids beat up Donald and got a free meal and got to be in the parade. Why don't we get something for kicking Mickey in the eggs?"

Yeah, you get something all right...you get escorted off property and banned for life! Hopefully!

Enough witnesses can make it right sometimes. Pathetic on Disney's part. I agree we are going to start seeing a Park that is more like Six Flags if Disney keeps coddling the assholes.

Geeze, I wonder if I punch Goofy next year, will I get a stay inthe Dream Suite? Worth a chance to find out. LOL!
Disney gets a big THUMBS DOWN on this one! :bsflag:

I'd have told MGMT that my trip was ruined because I saw some snot brat little kids beat up Donald and Disney comp'd them like spineless cowards. Then I'd stick my hand out and say "pay up sucka!"

Later decked out in all my free Disney goodness, I'd seek out the family and shove them all into the path of an oncoming mears bus (hopefully outbound to the airport so they can just scoop up the SG's and send them home).
