Stupid Guest Tricks

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't been to Disneyland Resort in ages, but weren't there some Hawaiian hula dancers in IASW? I realize that DLR opened in 1955 and Hawaii became our 50th state in 1959, maybe when it opened--assuming it opened in '55 --it had the hula dancers because they were part of the world, but at that time were a U.S. territory? I think there might be Eskimos in there, as well, and Alaska became a state just before Hawaii did. Or maybe the hula dancers represent Polynesia and the Eskimos Iceland and Greenland? Or am I all wet?

There is a whole Polynesian island scene, of which Hawaii is but one part. However, we don't consider the crazy Hawaiians as part of America ;) .

IASW was created for the 1964 New York World Fair and then moved to DL after the fair ended. So even if DL opened in '55 and a state wasn't added until a few years later, they were still "in play" before the 64 fair and thus officially a state at the time.

[font="Palatino Linotype"]thank you randy b...i was just about to say that this was not an original attraction at dl and was for the world's fair and only opened at dl after the fair...along with the dinosaurs (you can see them from the train), carousel of progress (you can see a kind of version at wdw [innoventions is in this spot now...what a waste of space...in my humble opinion]), monsanto's trip through inner space [ this is where star tours is now])...amazing what the world's fair brought to dl :D: [/font]

Monsanto's Adventure Thru Inner Space was never at the New York World Fair, it was built as a Disneyland original.

The fourth attraction from the Fair that came to Disneyland was Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

Loved that one, I wish they would bring that one back!!

They should consider a "nostalgia" land, with all the "old" attractions. I bet a whole bunch of people would like to go there!!

I had heard talk they were supposed to bring Lincoln back. I don't know know what the news is now. Have to find out. I LOVE that attraction. It was my dad's favorite when we went to DL in the 1960's. It is very cool. I miss it.

BRING BACK MR. LINCOLN NOW!!!

I hope they do not destroy IASW and add the Disney characters. Mary Blair's artwork is spellbinding.
So little of her work is available for the public to see. I miss the tile murals that used to be in the front of Tomorrowland at DL.
