I did see it! . .but. . .but. . . and mine's a big butt, er, but LOL

Warning, here be spoilers so anyone who hasn't seen AWE and wants to, look away! LOL

Even Ted and Terry wouldn't say at the end exactly what the sequence meant. I followed their website for a long time after the movie came out and they had plotpoints that they could not reconcile to make the happy reunion make sense.

My husband and I both took it all to mean that since the "Dutchman always has to have a Captain" and that Will's heart can't be restored to him (at least Ted and Terry said they didn't see how it could be, back when the movie first came out- unless they've recanted and I missed it???) but has to stay in the Dead Man's Chest (or be stabbed and Will would die finally) that he only got the one day ever ten years on land and was basically stuck captaining the Dutchman for eternity.

One day ever ten years. Whaaa! And. . .Norrington got it :(

Okay, off to bed with me I can't wait to see if there's more discussion of this in the morning! LOL

hugs to all and nighty night!

Aha, you see I'm the one who is in the dark on this, not having realized that he gets only one day every ten years. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the dialog. I was just so excited to see Will sailing back to Elizabeth....

Some kids are up at early hours such as my former neighbor had her kid up and in the car bout 6 am so that she could take it to the sitter where it finished sleeping. She had to go to work. Some kids sneak in and watch television and some kids are up late or early because they are sick.

As stated some people tape shows. Disney can use the dead hours with kiddie shows and other programming that few will watch during the day time. They fill that dead space and people end up watching the shows on tapes. So Disney gets them ads and stuff to their customers, fill dead time and have loyal viewers who tape the junk shows late at night.

And don't forget us "creatures of the night". On my weekends I keep my day/night schedule the same as it is too hard on the body to make changes quickly and easily (think the ultimate jet lag). So on my weekend, if I have run out of prime time programs I tape delayed (less and less is worth taping) and am not in the mood for a DVD, I am stuck with late night TV. I can't afford cable/dish service and so I am stuck with broadcast TV. There used to be a few stations that would play some older sindicated programs all night. But no more. After the talk shows end I'm stuck with infomercial or infomercial. And the maddening thing is frequently I find that all of the stations are playing the exact same infomercial at the same time so as I tune across I can't tell that the channel has changed. And the same infomercial plays every day, at the same time, and repetes for an entire year.

I guess thats why my DVD collection of old TV shows has grown so big so fast. At 2am, nothing is better than to drop in a random disk from three seasons (soon to be four) seasons of Wild Wild West to make an evening much more enjoyable. :D:

I've always wondered who watches those infomercials but someone must be. Otherwise the companies advertising wouldn't keep at it. The ad rates must be pretty low too for them to keep at it.

I feel awful! I shouldn't have made you doubt! The debate raged for weeks on Ted and Terry's website (which I could never post a question to for some reason- I mailed their webmaster and all and she said it was something with my domain having been blocked because of another person- it was never resolved for some reason) the whole thing about the green flash- him coming back. . .actually it seemed like more dialog explaining it was in Dead Man's Chest than in AWE!

They never resolved it at least to a explanation that made sense- they kept telling people to 'go see it again and they'd understand' but it was hilarious some people did it (this was during opening week and I think they were trying to keep the bad word of mouth from killing the box office take) and one woman came back and said "Okay Ted and Terry I watched it again and I still see what I see, I want my 12 bucks back!" I think they went for something and just missed the mark entirely.

I thought that it should've gone this way, personally. . (you didn't ask but here it comes anyway! LOL) In the ending as I'd have written it- Jack Sparrow becomes the Pirate King. Bootstrap Bill takes the job on the Dutchman because he owes Will for leaving him as a child- Norrington and Elizabeth end up together and Will becomes Captain of the Black Pearl!

Happy ending! LOL I mean, it's a movie based on a theme park ride, I don't think a happy ending is too terribly much to ask!

Whazzup wrote:Bru, didn't you see the outtake at the end of At World's End after the credits? Will's curse has run its course and he comes back!! And Elizabeth and his young son are standing on the headland waiting for him! Very romantic.

I don't like Grey's Anatomy, either. Buncha whiners and dysfunctionals.
I was very depressed even after That Ending on AWE. I understood that the
Captain of the Flying Dutchman Curse didn't end even after the 10 years. Bummer.

As for the Power Rangers, my kids used to watch the first few seasons, and so did I. Dorky, but I thought the guy playing "Tommy" was cute.
We moved from Riverside County to LA County. Kids want to take Karate.
Guess Who owned the Dojo up the street from us?
Yup, Jason David Frank. He was very kind to my son with Autism, and both kids learned a lot.

I had seen a lot of discussion on another board, but didn't bother to read them, as everyone seemed to have their own ideas on what was protrayed.

I simply think that they left several plot lines "open" for the purpose of (gasp) a sequel!!! What better way?

Becau$e Di$ney would want all the fan$ to be happy with the $tory!!
