Stroller Fights...

Just wondering, when they accused you of being an ass when you weren't, is that the time you could call your manager? My experiences lately is that people will make up stories just to get their way, very psycho of them...not to mention the verbal abuse. :mad:

Well I was attempting to diffuse the situation without a manager. They sometimes bitch about having to deal with stroller situations. I keep forgetting that Soarin' is the only attraction that matters. Silly me! LOL!

Wonder what brand of camera they used. Sucker must be tough, as it survived!

Since the logo is for the Chatanooga Choo-choo and that engine is a stationary display, the camera didn't take too much damage. :D:

Well, since this is a Disney related type of board, I make the assumption that it is a "forced prespective" and you can see only what they WANT you too!!

I love what the manager did with the stroller. That ramp is a bitch to walk. Hope they had a nice hike all the way to the bottom to find their stroller. Too bad they didnt see where the manager parked it, wait till they went inside and then go move the thing to the other side of the flower/sign bed. HEHEHE! Really mess with their brains...OH WAIT! They dont have much to mess with, could that be considered SG abuse?

I would be tempted to carry a pocket full of plastic cable ties. Once I parked the stroller as far from the door as possible I would cable tie the rear wheels to the leg of the stroller so they are completely unable to turn. The front wheels can easily be lifted from the ground in operation but the rear ones make the stroller as easy to push as a folding chair. Just be sure to not leave any finger prints. :D:

Why they hell are you dragging a small child around an amusement park if Jr. is not feeling well. Take the darn kid to the doctor or somewhere to rest if it isnt too serious.

I agree. I can't tell you how often I have read trip reports from people who say "My child had a bad case of the mumps (or chickenpox, or whatever) but we just got them a stroller and went to the parks anyway. I guess they just like to spread the wealth to everyone else they come in contact with. I am a firm advocate of the "if you are ill, and especially if the illness is of a contagious type, stay inside, and get well". Believe it or not, if you take time to take care of yourself at the first sign of "unwell", the odds are that the illness will be much less severe and allow you to enjoy your time in the parks and actually get more done than if you drag yourself (or your child) through the parks.

Over the years I have taken several days out of park touring because I am not feeling up to snuff. When I feel the first hint of unwell I take a day off and pamper myself. And have never had anything put me down for more than that one day. But from experience here at home, if I ignore that first hint, I may end up in bed for a week.

LOL...gee honey something seems to be wrong with the stroller. I would think a bit of fishing line would be more fun to watch. That stuff can be almost invisible if put in the right hidden area.

I totally agree with you on the "fight it off before it becomes a problem" theory. Gotta love those Cold-EEZE things. I cant decide wether they really do work or it is all in your head that they will so you dont get sick. I usually pop one of those and then tell my body "YOU WILL NOT GET SICK, cause if you do, the child will never get fed or put to bed and the bills will not get paid" (he earns the money, I rule it)

I can't imagine having to deal with the sheer volume of SGs you CMs have to deal with, so I do understand that you can't call your manager for everything. I have much less volume, but I am noticing that *some* people seem awfully prepared to fight as dirty as possible, and every attempt to handle the situation seems to cause them to get even worse. So maddening!

I've encountered that one a few times too. We don't permit open umbrellas in the Fant! theatre since there's several thousand people sitting in that stadium and open umbrellas are an invitation to put someone's eye out. I had one family refuse to put down the umbrella in a drizzle because their little precious had pneumonia. Yeah, right. [sarcastic mode] I'd take MY child to Disney in the rain (at night) to see fireworks when he had pneumonia! Sure I would. [/end sarcastic mode] The father was yelling, threatening to sue if his child got sicker, and basically being a jerk. Both the manager and I are trying to explain that he has to leave with the umbrella, or he can sit and watch the show in the drizzle, but he CAN'T have the umbrella up in the theatre, period, end of story. The manager ended up caving in, allowing him to sit smuggly in the back of the stadium with his umbrella up. After the show started, about 100 more umbrellas went up when other people realized that the manager was allowing that one SG to keep his up. Rainy days and Mondays always get me down!

And this is exactly why Raffle and I got sick at Christmas. We caught it from someone there. If you are sick, STAY HOME. PERIOD. No one wants your cooties and I certainly don't want a THIRD Christmas vacation to be totally ruined because I had to stay in bed at the DL Hotel while you walked around with the flu or took your sick snot running down the face kid into the Parks and TOUCHED everything with those germy little mitts! Nasty! There is so much bacteria and so many viruses running around those places, like the airport or the Parks that you should not go if you are sick. Some people are elderly and could DIE from pneumonia if they catch your crap. STAY HOME!!!!!!! :mad:

I have had 3 trips to DL pretty much destroyed due to the flu, a very aggressive stomach virus and a bad cold. If I catch it and then go back out in the Parks, then I am spreading it. So we tried to limit our time in the Parks to a couple hours and then headed straight back to the room for sleep and Airborne and morphine :D: Now that stuff makes ya feel better! It makes all the bad aches and pain go away. Except the pain it is supposed to get rid of I am not going at Christmas again. Too many people, it is flu season and too crowded anyway. Off season. That's the ticket!
Oh and I ALWAYS carry those Wet Ones with me. They work okay, but some viruses and bacteria are resistant to the chemicals in the fluid they douse them with. Better just not to touch your face, hair or anything after touching ther railings and Attraction vehicles and pretty much any surface in the Parks. Go back to the hotel and shower really well after being in the Park and change your clothes.

I might sound like I am obsessive, but after 3 trips of illness to that place, I just don't want to get sick anymore. I also need to strengthen my own immune system. That will happen when I can exercise again. :)

I agree, we have an unwritten rule at work tht if you are sick, either Stay home, or go home!! Its not woth taking an entire office "out" if you are coming in to cough and sneeze in an enclosed space!

Since we have a good amount of sick leave, most people will use it. but for the first time, when we went to WDW, DW and I started using the sanatizer and wipes. as she always seems to get a cold or something. and we escaped getting any cold this last trip. We will see about DL!!
