I think it's a little silly to think that Le Cellier is all booked up because of people raving about it on message boards. Le Cellier is booked up b/c it is good food, at a great location, and it accepts DDP, enough said. Also, if you don't want to give away any Disney "secrets", then don't say anything at all. But if you think that b/c you say a great place to view Wishes is the south east side of the castle on the walkway leading down to the old boat dock, that by your next trip, it's going to be LOADED with people...thats a little silly.
the message board community represents a very small percentage of the MILLIONS of people who attend Disney every year... but by all means...don't share your "secrets"

Wow. Shows me how it's been since I've been to WDW. I remember one of the guidebooks that I used in planning said Le Ceiller was one of the worst Epcot restaurants to dine in. What makes the place so special? What kind of food do they serve?

Very good steaks, for one thing. Or so I hear. I don't know, I'm a Cast Member. I can't afford to eat there! :p:
Although it's on my list, because I want to have tried everywhere...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Beer cheese soup. Good Steaks (most of the time) and Maple Creme Broule.
That's what makes La Celliers good.
But I too can't afford to eat there much anymore.

There is recipe for the cheese soup on allearsnet.com YUMMY YUMMY I couldnt find the specific beer and one of the cheeses when I made it but it still came out super super good. The big pot didnt last long. LOL
The food looks ok at Le Cellier but I dont like the pics of the restaurant itself are what turns me off to it. I have this claustropobia thing and the thot of eating in "a cellar" wine or not just makes me feel all ick.

The dining room at Le Cellier could certainly be nicer than it is. You'll find standard Disney-issue dining chairs and tables, and the ambiance is a little odd.
However, it's now a required stop on all our trips after eating there in early October. Our waitress, Courtney, was a great time and treated us really well. My uncle even picked up one of those Glow-Tinis and proceeded to make the entire place notice it. Oh, and the filet mignon was excellent. Next time, I'm saying "medium rare" instead of "medium".
That was also the night where some kid sat on the railing over the brook outside the restaurant and gave his wallet a bath

I made a meal there of Moosehead cheddar cheese soup, their wonderful free breadsticks (pretzel bread is the best), and maple creme brulee. It was all yumy!
I think the best meal I've had on property so far was last month at Spoodles. Pressed Cornish game hen was the entree. Can't remember what all came with it but it was all excellent. We enjoyed watching the chefs in the open kitchen, but the big room is so noisy that you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice. A lot of the Disney restaurants are like that. I guess hard floors are much easier to clean than carpeting.

Spoodles is great! We had dinner there late one evening..I loved the food, but you are right, noisy...I liked the food at what used to be the Concourse Steak House at the Contemporary, but is now just a memory.... :(
