Is this ODV new hire wage now? Can't be this high can it? Thank God some of us make more than $8.70. FL. has a lower minimum wage than Ca. does I think. Disney pays more than minimum wage when hired in thus negotiations are based on this platform. Wish we could help you Cranbiz. :) Guess nothing is equal across the board with Disney as far as CM pay. :(

darph, "they" really don't care :twisted: . The city nor Disney as a whole. Most of us can so easily be replaced. We lose too many great CMs due to your above statement now. :( Training is never ending because so many can't make it on so little.There is no CM loyalty! As far as driving 5-15 miles to work there are many CMs who drive 1- 2 hrs. On a good day I can make K Lot in 45 minutes. Good days are few. :twisted: Thanks for your loyalty to all Disney CMs. :)

MS,I know 'they' don't give a shit. They just go to work in their limos,from their gated palaces,and think "Those silly CMs are creating 'global warming,good thing it's not 'us'". It is because you don't contribute to the tax base,(not you specificly) ;) .Now I'm sure there are PLENTY of $$$ people who have NEVER been to DL because they could'nt find rooms that cost $5,000 a night.(Sorry kids,but we can't let you 'anywhere' near the little/working people)

Channel 4 (NBC) will do a story on DLR tomorrow night - The Power of The Mouse Ears.

Watched the well publized story on NBC 4 & was not at all impressed. Some senator from AL. got DLR & WDW a 24/7 No Fly Zone 4 yrs. ago. Very unusual for a theme park but I just don't get the problem. We have many other important issues in the news. A Disney No Fly Zone doesn't even call for a soap box.

I read an article in the paper about this one guy who is a janitor in the Disneyland Hotel; he's making $11.11/hr. and still can't make ends meet. According to Orange County Habitat for Humanity website, the average rent in April 2006 for a 2br apartment was $1441/mo. You look at these apartment magazines, and Anaheim has the lowest rents, but they're still high. And getting higher all the time. I once lived in an apartment in L.A. County for five years. When I moved in, the rent was $695/mo.; when I moved out 5 years later, the rent was $750/mo. I moved in with my mom in Anaheim, and when she moved in the rent was $950/mo.; when we moved out 3 years later, the rent was $1625/mo.-- a 71% increase! We now live in another town in O.C., and for $1250/mo. we're living in an old hovel. Also, as a pet owner, I notice it's hard to find affordable housing that allows pets. I don't think it's fair to charge people more rent for owning a pet than non-pet owners. Where we live now, I'm hiding my cat. Stupid owners are allergic, but they live 12 miles away and are never here; what's wrong with this picture? The number one reason pets are surrendered to shelters is "moving, landlord won't allow." Yet pet owners make better tenants, are healthier, and most of the time the manager ends up having to refund the pet deposit because it wasn't needed. I'd like to start a petition to make it illegal to discriminate against pet owning tenants; it would eventually become law. They outlawed refusing to rent to families with children, and since many people consider their pets to be their children, the pets would have to be allowed. For every child that is born in the U.S., 15 puppies and 45 kittens are born, more than the available homes. Spaying and neutering is only part of the solution; we need to make it possible for more renters to adopt a pet or keep their own. If anyone can point me to a way of doing this petition up and getting it in front of the voters, I'd appreciate it.
I am now returning the soap box to the use of others who need it.

I watched it!! I thought Disney lifted the no fly zone long ago when I saw airplanes flying awlfully close.

I.E BTMRR and California Screamin' A CM once joked that the media comes faster then the ambulance!! :D: It's funny when BTMRR accident happen, you can see on ABC 7 of the arrival of the ambulance.
