Pretty soon an opening for a teaching assistant in my school's criminalistics lab will be open. I wasn't going to apply before but now I will. $13/hr, 20 hr/wk, limited medical benefits. It will be worth it for me.

Anyhoo, a few minutes ago I bookmarked a page on the American Academy of Forensic Sciences home page. There are a couple of postings I seem to be qualified for, so tomorrow morning I'm going to make some phone calls.

I just sent an application to the DEA as an entry-level chemist. Would finally be a living wage, but depending on where I go (not all the positions I expressed interest in were in California) I may have to quit school before I get my master's degree.

I know that the options in life aren't always as numerous as you might wish, but permit me to urge you to finish your degree now if you can find a way to do so. I felt obliged to go into the workforce without an advanced degree, and returning to university at 34 was more of a challenge than I had expected.

For now, look for a low-stress job that lets you concentrate your energies on your stuides. Even if that's outside the Company.

Much of life is about choosing priorities. Make sure you know what yours are, and take them in order.

At this point in my life, I like to think I have a pretty good idea of what my priorities are. I think I'll go take another nap.
