A few kids just took down Pluto near Innoventions yesterday and the CM was beaten so badly she went to the ER. I haven't heard if the kids were caught or not, but this is ridiculous.

What ever happened to escorts?
Just have to share and excerpt from a conversation Andrew and I just had about this!

That's pretty funny. I had the misfortune of having my then 1 year old son decide he didn't want to see Mickey Mouse up close and smacked him on the nose. I thought poor Mickey was going to fall down. I felt so bad, I think I apologize twenty times before finally walking away. Mickey was a good sport and we actually have a great picture with my terrible son and Mickey.

How could someone do that?! Why wouldn't other guests stop those stupid kids?! This makes me so mad.

BTW- This is my first time posting but I have been reading these forums for a while.

You would not believe some of the conversations I had with some of the face characters when I worked at Inn Between. Guys coming up to Cinderella and trying to grab her boobs and telling Snow White how they would make her not so Snow White anymore. BS like that. Of course they would always do it right next to them where the escort couldn't see or hear. Some of them were way gross. I think the one that made me sick was the story that the girl who played Belle told me. A guy came up to her and asked if she was into beastiality (haha) and if if he wore an animal costume would she do him? He whispered this in her ear pretending to have a picture taken with her. He slipped his number into her cleveage and ran off. Thankfully the guy was found and taken out of the park by security. Yeech! Now I need a shower.

It's too bad the fantasy characters can't add a small dose of reality and either apply a Three Stooges two finger shot to the eyes or a well-placed knee to the groin. I'd buy an AP to see Cinderella or Snow White get medieval on some moron that sorely deserved it.

Sorry I haven't contributed in a week or so, guys... I had the misfortune of going into anaphylaptic (sp?) shock after eating at the Eat Ticket the other day!!! lol.

Anyways, here's a couple for you:

1) Goofy was at Goofy's Kitchen visiting a large family on, say, monday, when the mother said, "Goofy, I love you so much. Can you sign something for me?" Goofy nodded, and out popped her right breast, and from her bra, a sharpee. "Go ahead, sign it! it's okay!" she said. Goofy kept shaking his head and walked off. Later, the character dining lead got a call from a server saying "goofy refused to sign an autograph book."

2) Guests being seated 20 minutes after the restaurant closes (for brunch) are ridiculous. They pay $25 a pop for character dining, and get seated after the restaurant closes. They are warned beforehand that they will probably see 1 character if they're lucky, but they "just want to eat". So, goofy's 2 good personal friends, who are part of the DINNER crew, get endless phone calls from the servers saying "My table wants to see Chip and Dale" "Well, you shouldn't have seated your table after chip and dale left!" "My table hasn't seen anyone" "duh, because everyone leaves at 2:30!"

not Dining related:
goofy and Pluto were out and about in Toontown in the early morning. Pluto was playing around in the toontown jail, when a 12 year old kid cornered him and started wailing away at his head. Pluto escaped and ran backstage and gave Goofy and the host a description of the kid. nothing happened for 2 more sets, but during the last one, GOOFY this time was kneeling over with a small kid, when he felt a fist smack him right across his neck. Right next to him was the kid that Pluto had described, saying "You can't touch me, Goofy! You can't do ANYTHING!" so goofy ran to get the host, who was watching over Pluto. Goofy pointed the kid out, and the host followed him back to his mom with a security guard, and announced out loud what had been happening. I don't know what happened, but hopefully there were some consequences!!

The first thing that come up to my mind are the escorts/Chracter Greeters. I dont know about DLR, but in WDW I see one Character Greeter for every ONE character in the resort. We should not let guests abuse our entertainment characters.

Anyone know about onboard the DCL ships? I occasionally see handlers at the meet-and-greets, but I've often encountered characters walking to or from backstage unaccompanied. (It's led to some interesting encounters -- once when I got to visit with Mickey for a moment all by myself, and another where I helped Donald fasten a rope barricade, when his, um, "wing" kept getting caught in the hook.!)

As a Disney Dining agent I personally warn our guests that normally they are able to stay for 90 minutes or 80 at Ariel's, but if they go after a certain time then they will be "compromising their experience" as the characters go to the front of the restaurant at closing time, but you all know how much the guests listen to us. Our managers and the managers at Ariel's Grotto are going to allow us to "shadow" the hosts over there so we can hear how the guests twist our words.
