Re: Gay Days At Disneyland
I don't know if it was coincidence or what, but during that weekend, I noticed in store windows a red shirt that said "I like my boyfriend but I love Mickey". I'm sure they came in other colors but that was the color displayed in the windows at the time, I'm sure they were popular sellers! :p:

Nice, but not quite as funny as the shirt I saw at WDW Gay Day once: "Nobody knows I'm queer""I like my boyfriend but I love Mickey"

Re: Gay Days At Disneyland
I love Gay Days here in WDW it a week of fun and some of the best Guests days. I loved a Jungle Boat full of "red shirts", everyone was into the entire "Show" and made my day brighter. Plus they all howled when I showed them all my red shirt on under my costume shirt. It read "One more and I get a blender" (refering to the episode of Ellen when she came out). ;)1team1dream wrote:"I like my boyfriend but I love Mickey". :p:

Funny, I've known of gay castmembers in the past who didn't want to be "out". Oddly, this was in Parades, where the highest gay/straight ratio existed (we used to joke, "How many straight parade guys does it take to screw in a light bulb?" - ANSWER - "Both of us."
For whatever reason, some aren't too comfortable with others knowing. To each his own.
I don't see any problem with gay days at the park. I've never witnessed any PDA beyond hand-holding and kissing, and I'd only find it offensive if ANYONE, gay or straight got beyond that in public.

In the parking lots/trams, our shirts and jackets contain plenty of red. Kinda distracting when yer tryin to do your job while getting plenty of stares from guests on that day.

Re: Gay Days At Disneyland
Ok, ive got a few stories, one was with my friend and the youth pastor.
They decided to got o Disneyland on the weekend of gay day, not knowing at the time it was gay day's. And the shirt's they wore that day happened to be red colored. Well needless to say, they both are nice lookin, if your lookin.. fun times for them that day! :D:
Also one day i was at disneyland with my friend, knowing quite well it was a gay day's, and told him to wear a red shirt, and i wore i think it was green, so it was funny, he still hates me now for introducing him to the guys in from of us with red shirts on. ;)

Re: Gay Days At Disneyland
One little thought,
I hate to be the one to sound cruel to anyone but personally, I would NOT want to even go to Disneyland during the Gay Days weekends and for many personal reasons:
I once dated someone who would do things that was embarassing to me while we were in line
Second-I have felt discriminated and rejected by mos fellow gay people (severall Disney CMs included)
Third-Their behavior at the parks that escalate from holding hands, hugging and kissing is very embrassing and sends out the WRONG message to those who hate us! I am proud to be gay but I don't have to tell the whole damn world about it by sashaying and swishing about!
Again, I hate to sound bitter about things like this but I must have my say!

Re: Gay Days At Disneyland
Wow.
That was shocking.
My wife has openly said that she would not want to take our kids to DL or any Disney park during the highly celebrated 'Gay Days'..
What you said kind of makes sense, as it seems (to me and a few others anyways) that these Gay Days is a cheap excuse of showing off and being 'proud'.
