See, least at my location, if we have problems with our vehicles, we can just take them out back and shoot em.

On a serious note, will this push the fact that we need that little update on the system. I mean it's only been, what, 16 years since the last update?

Sorry, it's only been a fraction of that time since we converted the onboard controllers to Windows CE.... oh wait, you said *update*.... nevermind.

She's already well beyond Coby money.

Updates for the Windows CE consoles that I deal with seem to appear almost monthly. Considering it is a closed enviroment, it does not inspire much confidence in the gear we use it in. No way of knowing if the updates are really MS driven or from the console manufacturer.

Hey, now.

A couple of the trains are now running XP.

Since we are on the Mark VI trains, there is no way we could use Windows 7.

I am most definitely sure that Monorail Red is, but Red doesn't have any friendly persona within her.

Dont know if you have seen or read about this yet... but Monorails Fail Again...

Last night... i mean this morning we had a computer failure in the system causing the trains to come to a hault..... And yes.. I was their.. assisting the evac, getting passer bys asking dumb questions about "another incident"

Some of the comments i have seen on the media websites point out that all the good cast members left long ago and all that is left is underpaid goons that are about as bright as a dead light bulb. I guess my training and tenure as a Fire Fighter and EMT was a waste of time seeing that i am " underpaid goon"
OMG, I have to stop reading these media and 'social' boards! I cannot believe how freaking STUPID and incorrect these people are with their stories! :banghead:

For the record:
  • Yes, I was a first responder to the incident.
  • Yes, there were multiple trains with people on the two rails that suffered the power outage and were stuck.
  • Yes, some people were rescued by Reedy Creek via lift/ladder. Most were towed into a station.
  • Yes, no one was hurt. Everyone was offered medical assistance at their location of debarkment.
  • Yes, I was there the whole time.

Now, how one idiot can claim that they came in the roof, extracted people through the hatch on Monorail Red, then put them on a ladder is insane! I was there and hatch was only opened on red to allow air circulation, period.

One SG on another board claims she and her 3 month old were stuck for 3 hours on Monorail Red is stretching it a bit. System went down at 01:18 and cleanup was complete at 04:08. Monorail Red was in the station around 03:30. So much for math skills on that, hmm?

Monorail Red was the last train to be assisted due to logicstics and other issues.

All of these system stops are for safety. The system detects something wrong and stops until we know exactly what is wrong. Period.

Because of the July accident, we are all highly sensitized to the monorail and her operation. We immediately notice when she isn't running. We also immediately find bottom feeding media on our property who seem to take great pains to remind us of July.

Also, I seem to keep running into SGs who keep pointing to a ride being 101 as an indication of how poorly our operation is being run and maintained these days. Something along the idea that being 101 :101: is so horribly bad.

Most rides go 101 for safety. While it is unfortunate that the ride experience was not optimal or magical, when dealing with rides or things with moving parts things happen. Remember, these rides are constantly monitored before, during, and after a ride cycle to very narrow limits to protect our guests and cast SAFETY.

It is only due to committed cast in operations and engineering that can remedy these conditions so you can board that ride later in your day with no safety issues outstanding. We are first fully committed to your safety, whether you want us to be or not. Only then will we put on a world class entertainment experience for your enjoyment.

Sorry for the rant. I think I have just hit my limit. :banghead:
