Maybe that was his handicap. Maybe stupidity 'is' a handicap. OH WAIT, he was color blind, that's it.

It may depend on whether or not there is a posted sign... I've heard that blue lines (or even a handicap symbol painted on the ground in the spot) may not be enough to designate a space as being a handicap space. It requires a posted sign.
If there was not a sign posted, he may have actually been able to argue his way out of the ticket on the technicality.
Kind of like tickets issued for exceeding the speed posted on the yellow signs on highway exit ramps. Technically (at least in Mass) yellow road signs are only *suggested* speeds, and are not official speed limits. Only limits posted on regular white and construction orange signs are official limits. The limit on the ramp may or may not actually be the limit from the road you're exiting from (it's a grey area).
Of course, that wouldn't preclude a cop from writing you a ticket for driving recklessly or dangerously, he just wouldn't be able to ticket you for speeding.

I love the Cali freeways. Max speed on Maui is 55 MPH and there's not much of that. When I get to Cali I'll be cruising along at seventy and being passed like I'm going the other way. Heaven.
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

The handi-cap parking spaces did have signs posted. Also, there was a blue wheel chair painted in the stalls.
In my condo complex we got new security. They have been busting the SG renters who love to park in the fire lane. The SG renters have had their cars towed. It happens on a weekly basis. I would love to see what the judge says about this.
Question: why is that the GAC Card families think everyting is free?

I've had to give up driving the speed limit too. My transcontinental trip last August showed me some variety in speed limit obedience, but none of the Interstates I used had the average anywhere near the posted limit.
After trying to obey the law out of principle lo these many years, I have now decided that since the primary purpose of the speed limit is to increase safety, and as it's sure as hell unsafe to try to drive at that speed, I am actually doing more for my safety and that of others by driving at the average speed of those around me.
I'm not proud of it, but I'd rather be ashamed and unharmed.

I originally thought Cranial-Rectal Inversion Syndrome, but the truth is so much more believable: "It's all about me." I'm so important and my time is so valuable that I don't have to abide by your silly rules and laws, regardless of who it inconveniences or what problems it causes. As long as I find a place to park, I'm happy.

I had a group of Guests in City Hall a few days ago that came in 4 times and tried 4 different CMs trying to get EXTRA GAC cards. It seems that they had mom-in-a-wheelchair as part of a group of 18 and they didn't like that "Mom has to keep going on the ride like 3 times because she can only take 5 people with her at a time! She's disabled; she can't handle going on every ride 3 times!"
Me: Well, the pass is for her and the rest of the party can wait in the standard queues.
Him: But that would take forever!
Me: Actually, that would be faster than waiting through the GAC line 3 times in a row for each ride.
Him: Those lines are too long; we'll only get on like 4 rides all day.
Me: Well, sir, it's a busy day and the other 50,000 in the park have to wait in those lines too. The pass is intended to give you ACCESS to the ride if you CAN'T wait in the regular line. It's NOT intended to get you on more rides than the other people in the park.
Him: That's discrimination!
Me: It's not, and this conversation is over. I am telling everyone working in this building that you've been in here 4 times and if you try to come back, we will take the one GAC that you've got away for misuse.
Him: You can't do that.
Me: If you read the back, you'll see that it says it's the property of the Disneyland Resort, and you've initialed that you read and understood that. Have a nice day, sir.

I thought the GAC Cards were only for those who need it. When I was in the park after attending a NFFC function, there was this big family at It's a Small World. The GAC Card only covered 6 people, the SG lady was trying to get 18 in her party. My friend had a GAC Card and was able to get 6 in. The 18 in the other party had to wait. The lady was not happy amd the cast member said mam, your card covers 6 people and you have 12 more than the limit. When we got off the line, SG was arguing with security and still not getting her way.

Nicely done, GuestJockey. Firmly polite. Or politely firm.
