Well they have released the dates, Dec 3-5. And when I tried to get registered, the sign up was already full.
Does this mean that we will be locked out of the MK for those days? I understand Main Street will be closed, but is the rest of the park functioning as normal ?
Do additional sign up opportunities appear closer to the filming dates ?

No, the park is open. Main St is closed but you will use the backstage route to get to other areas.

I know that I already mentioned this but I'm assuming that for Disneyland, they will once again film in November.
Its really fascinating to me that they film in Disneyland and WDW on different days, do re-takes, and carefully control everything (like making sure that certain characters only appear in Disneyland and some only in WDW) all to make it look like the show is actually filmed on Christmas morning with performances and host segments going on back and forth between WDW and Disneyland.
I love the magic of TV.

I was there last year on the day they were filming at least a few of the performances. It was my last day... be sure to see any regular MK shows you want to on other days... I managed to gyp myself out of “Dream Along with Mickey” because I didn't check the schedule to see they were filming Mylie Cyrus in front of the castle that day instead.

Unfortunately, my daughter would not feel gyped at all. She would make us watch it over, and over...
