Vic Mizzy will not be down for breakfast (snap, snap)
'Addams Family' Theme Composer Dies
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The songwriter who composed the catchy themes for "The Addams Family" and "Green Acres" has died.
Vic Mizzy was 93.
That's Mizzy's voice singing "They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're altogether ooky: the Addams family." His voice was overdubbed three times to make it sound like there were several singers.
Unlike most songwriters in the 1960s, he made sure to own his songs. His publicist says Mizzy often would say: "If people only remembered me for the themes to 'The Addams Family' and 'Green Acres,' I wouldn't care. Two snaps got me a Bel Air mansion." Bel Air is a ritzy section of Los Angeles.
Mizzy also wrote songs that were recorded by Dean Martin, Doris Day, Perry Como and Billie Holiday in the '40s and '50s. And, a song he wrote for "Spider-Man 2" is on the DVD.

Don't think so. 1990 or 1991 college term said as one snaps fingers twice. Example; His ride is Two Snaps Up. Or....Two Snapes Up. DLR has a new CEO. ;) Perhaps taken from Siskel & Ebert's "Two Thumbs up."GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:maybe that the the origin of the "two snaps up" term?

Re: Vic Mizzy will not be down for breakfast (snap, snap)
Last year at work,I caught the opening mearures of the "Green Acres" theme on the TV. Next thing you know,I'm singing the song word for word (to myself of course),without missing a beat. :( To top it off,I haven't seen the show in over 30yrs.

It's running through my head now too. Sad to see Vic Mizzy gone. All his themes got engrained in my head during a childhood of too much TV.

Actually in started in a bit on "In living color" and yes it was a parody of "Siskel and Ebert"Main Streeter wrote:Don't think so. 1990 or 1991 college term said as one snaps fingers twice.
