He's also a filthy liar on top of his other "attributes." The article says he claims he didn't get immediate help for the child because his cell phone was disconnected so he couldn't call 911. Even cells with no service can reach 911. And his excuse for not just running out to use a neighbor's phone was that he didn't want to "bother" them. Yeah, but he could take the time to boil the water...scum, scum, scum.

This guy was not the only fish in the sea. Yeah, I agree, people like him--and I use that term very loosely--deserve to have their crime emblazoned on their bodies where the other inmates will see it, and respond appropriately.

How he expected a two-year-old to change his clothes or to refrain from soiling himself is beyond me. This fool obviously has brains made of pus. Kids don't normally start trying to dress themselves until 3 or 4; at 2, this kid was still being potty trained. Hey, if the kid's full, or not hungry, don't make him eat. Duh.

The problem here is that the guy will 'shine' the gal on about how much he cares for her (just wants to get laid). I know this first hand from a relationship my daughter had years ago. He never hurt her physically, just mentally. She'd work all day while he stayed home and played video games, then tell her how worthless she was. He and I had a sit-down talk one night and I told him, "If you ever lay a hand on my daughter, don't fear me, fear her cousins (one is a cage fighter now) or her brothers". I was discussing this with a buddy of mine at the bar one day and he told me,"For $25.00 I'll break both of his legs". I came thiiiiis close, having $25.00 at the time. To be equal,I've known some gals to be the same way. :(

That is horrifying. I hope they give him the death penalty, if he doesn't get offed by the other inmates first.

As a former ACLU Director, I guess I have to pitch in here:

We live in a society based on laws. We adopt laws that define crimes and the punishments we will mete out if they are violated. We have principles that require that punishment not be cruel or unusual. We believe in not just a fair trial, but decent representation even for the indecent offenders.

Now mind you, if we lived in the Wild West, I might be among those who decided this particular punk "needed killing". But that would be because in that primitive society, one cannot depend on the courts and jails to follow the intent of the legislation and to take such offenders. off the streets.. and to separate them... from the innocent civilians.... two prior arrests..... for sexual offenses...... and no effort toward 911.......

Damn. Don't you hate it when your own best arguments don't convince you?

That is bad. I had to stop. I feel bad for the mom. The boy friend can go and be chained in a cell for the rest of his life.

My friend told me that her roommate married some idiot for shaking his last girl friend's kid to death. He got manslaughter and 10 years in prison. He is out and his new wife is pregnant with a baby. I told my friend if the feds come around, turn his butt in.

The baby's mom was negligent in leaving the toddler in the care of someone who had previously exhibited bad judgment in a sex offense, and leaving her baby in the care of someone who has no phone, and thinks boiling water is good for reviving a person.

In her defense, she may not have known his priors, I don't think that's something you're going to tell someone that you're trying to date. And, he may have been really good with the kid when she was around and may have even watched him before and it was just something about this time that drove him over, we really don't know.

Not defending him, defending the mother's choices, it may have seemed like a good idea with the knowledge she had.
