I was going to Photoshop together a VM mosh pit, but it's late and I'm sleepy. Just use your imagination. ;) :p:Main Streeter wrote:No BRW, guess I don't.Never have been in a mosh pit @ Barbershop quartet show/concert.

Didn't the simpsons do a show with homer in a quartet that was giving wild concerts?

Promptly forgotten :) Very peaceful and quite today even though the ole gasoline, match and fireworks factory is on fire...darph nader wrote:Don't forget your ear-plugs.
This is not my first show :) I've been a fan for a while, since '86 or so, but didn't get to start going to shows until after the MetallicA/Guns tour.Main Streeter wrote:DisneyMom would love to go with you. ;) Think she is a MetallicA fan. Enjoy Ktulu. They are great!
I have made up for it since then ;)
They did have these fine chaps called Gojira (missed them) and Lamb of god open up :)BRWombat wrote:Let me know if they have any barbershop quartets opening for them!
It was awesome, we left promptly after the band left the stage and headed home to get out girls from the sitter. Then sleep. Precious precious sleep...DisneyMom wrote: Hope you had a great time, Ktulu

Heh, no contact highs. Funny, the only people that were smoking anything (including weed) were these old people behind us. Crowd was (mostly) behaved. One of the guitarist for Lamb of god got hit by a flying cup of beer (such a waste), jumped down off stage to confront the dude. It was their last song so we didn't get ripped off, not that I cared. I was there to see MetallicA :D:darph nader wrote:ktulu, can you hear me? How was the concert?? That good huh? Any 'contact' highs?OK,go back to sleep and we'll see you in the morning.

I saw that tour. :) Of course, I'm a huge gnr fan and have never missed a concert until after the break up and it became the Axl Rose and whoever will put up with him show, I mean, ok, they are still technically gnr but they're not really.ktulu wrote: This is not my first show :) I've been a fan for a while, since '86 or so, but didn't get to start going to shows until after the MetallicA/Guns tour.

Although, I kind lost interest in Metallica after the load tour, that was the last one I saw and I was disappointed in it.

That would be the "Be Sharps" and their huge hit "Baby on Board," as featured in the Simpsons episode "Homer's Barbershop Quartet." Every now and then I'll see a request on the Harmonet (the barbershop Yahoo group) for the arrangement of that song.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Didn't the simpsons do a show with homer in a quartet that was giving wild concerts?
According to Wikipedia -- and when is Wikipedia ever wrong? -- the Dapper Dans provided the singing voices for the quartet!
ETA: Glad you had a good time at the concert, ktulu.

That's cause you're a GnR fan :D:lady ulrike wrote: Although, I kind lost interest in Metallica after the load tour, that was the last one I saw and I was disappointed in it.
I saw Slash's Snakepit at a small club, met Slash before the gig, and was 5' away during the show. It was awesome.
I can be seen in the "Cunning Stunts" video from the load tour. They did two shows in Fort Worth where they filmed it, including doing one song (don't recall which) twice during one show since they had camera issues the night before. That was one of the coolest shows I've seen them do, they set a guy on fire, and "blew up" the stage. Awesome show!
