Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.
Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

Re: 2010 promo
I think I foresee a bigger problem. You can already search for places to volunteer through them(most likely not all Disney approved) and the closest I saw was nearly an hour drive away. The next closest opportunities are in other states. I think it is safe to say that I live in a heavily populated area so I can only imagine what places less populated will be like. So, I think the biggest problem won't be people wanting the volunteering they already do to count, but the availability of the opportunities. Of course, it's still early and we will have to wait for the Disney opportunities to be listed to be sure, but I suspect this will be a major problem.GuestJockey wrote:I think it's a GREAT idea for a promotion, but I already see a problem with the "Disney approved volunteer center" portion. It's not even about people "faking" it'; it's the people who legitimately volunteer (rebuilding boats, leading girl scouts, etc.) but for smaller organizations, then they come to City Hall and say, "You're telling me I volunteer 100 hours a year, but not at your 'approved' location, so my volunteer hours don't count?"
There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Re: 2010 promo
I looked up the opportunities on the Hands On Network in my area... so many volunteer organizations are completely left out. It looked to me like in my area, one could either volunteer at various branches of the county library, or participate in some kind of children's sports event at the local university. That's it. Either one is easily do-able, but when I think about the many, many volunteer opportunities in our community that aren't on the list! I, too, think this is going to cause some big problems at City Hall when people find out their 100+ hours don't count because it wasn't for an approved organization.
I hope there are more opportunities on the site when January rolls around, or I feel very badly for you nice folk in guest relations and the ticket windows.

Does spending a month every year repairing boats for a junior sailing program count?CujoSR wrote:New offer from StupidGuestTricks.com!

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Sweet! I'm free, I don't have to give anyone a virtual pat on the back. :) I'm not saying I won't do it, but I'm not required to do so. :)CujoSR wrote:New offer from StupidGuestTricks.com!
