2010 promo
According to a rather obnoxious DL commentator on another site:
The new campaign for 2010 will allow anyone a free ticket to Disneyland, but only after they complete a certain number of volunteer hours in their community with a Disney approved charity or nonprofit organization.
I see a LOT of SGTs in our future!

Hopefully, the people who volunteer are not the type to commit SGTs. You might get people trying to fabricate proof of service, though.
My son has been volunteering at the local library this Summer and plans to continue.....more to put on his resume :)

Interesting idea. I wonder how trustworthy this individual is?

Re: 2010 promo
Hmmm, with all the hours I've put in as a Girl Scout Leader, they should award me not just a free ticket, but a Premium Annual Pass. Oh, wait, I don't have time to go to the park anymore because I'm either prepping for Cookie Time, in Cookie Time, or recuperating from Cookie Time. :)
Very interesting idea, though, to reward people who give back to the community. But, gosh, I bet there will be a lot of people trying to fake it!

Do you think my annual one month of repairing boats for junior sailing classes will count?

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: 2010 promo
I think it's a GREAT idea for a promotion, but I already see a problem with the "Disney approved volunteer center" portion. It's not even about people "faking" it'; it's the people who legitimately volunteer (rebuilding boats, leading girl scouts, etc.) but for smaller organizations, then they come to City Hall and say, "You're telling me I volunteer 100 hours a year, but not at your 'approved' location, so my volunteer hours don't count?"

I think your support of "Single Mothers" alone is enough for a Free PAP! ;)hobie16 wrote:Do you think my annual one month of repairing boats for junior sailing classes will count?![]()

You'll need to have them sign your time cards, which could get interesting.hobie16 wrote:Boy houdy!! I should have kept a record of all my hours.
