Try this. Note - brandy instead of rum. I'll stick with B & J's cake batter.

Fruit Cake Ice Cream Ingredients
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
1 1/2 Tbs brandy
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped fruit cake
2 1/2 Tbs finely chopped almonds

Fruit Cake Ice Cream

In large bowl beat eggs & sugar together. In saucepan bring milk & cream to simmering. Pour onto eggs in slow steady stream beating constantly & continuing to beat until mixture is very thick & light. Stir in chopped almonds then fold in fruit cake & brandy. Spoon mixture into container. Cover & freeze until firm. Abt 20 minutes before serving transfer Fruit Cake Ice Cream to refrigerator. Serve decorated with cream & cherries.

I think we need to hide both of them in that case, no need to waste perfectly good alcohol to use in a flame war, drinking is acceptable, burning not so much.

If it's going to be a real flame war then we need Ron Rico 151.

Didn't realize this would be such a hot issue. Now you know why many @ DL refer to me as Trouble. ;)

Now that this has changed into a suspicious fruit cake thread, I'd like to add this.

There is nothing more depressing than attending a wedding in Canada, going through a long tedious ceremony, arriving at the reception and choking down dry chicken in anticipation of a sugary delight called the wedding cake only to have it be fruit cake. OMG, a letdown of an unmeasurable degree. I'm still having nightmares and that was over 20 years ago.

As a side note (since we are way off topic anyway) I possible just put together the longest "run on" sentence in the history of the boards. I'll bet my old english teacher would be proud.
