They say it will be open for this weekend, but hopefully that means 6PM Friday as GA Tech booked out the park for then :)
Yes, it is a bit damp outside.

I got news for you--no way is that park gonna be dried out and ready by this Friday. If that water got into the electrical systems of those rides, they're gonna have to replace them, unless they were sealed against moisture. And those coasters, as well as everything else, are gonna need to be cleaned, inspected, repaired, etc.. Maybe it'll be ready by Sept. 25, 2010, but not in three days. The wooden roller coaster is gonna be toast if it stays underwater much longer--even if it was water sealed, I wouldn't trust it. Hope those who rented the park can get their deposit back. The only good news is cleaning and repairing will provide job security for electricians, plumbers, etc..

They are still maintaining to the news that they will be open Saturday, and their schedule on their website concurs. They said they have experience with flooding, so my bet is that they have stuff sealed up pretty well. It looks like the ride stations are all above the water level, that would be where most of the systems are.

I think they have to be dreaming to open by Friday. I would say try opening next summer. That place will have severe mold build up and several months to dry out everything.

When an insurance company is faced with millions in pay outs to cover a business continuance policy miracles can and will happen.

:hysteria: You forgot to bet the stray cats in your front yard. ;) News stated $250 million in damages just as a first figure. darph, MIBs are with you. They said no way will a theme park be able to open, but they only know tortillas. :D:

Yeah, I think the real world hit them and they figured it out that the water was not just going to disappear.

Here is one of the best images I have seen. I'm fairly sure this coaster is dead at least for the rest of the year.
