Hmmmm...Intamin....same ride manifcturer whose cable snapped on Superman Power of Tower in Kentucky and cut of a girl's feet. I dunno about the cause at Knotts, but that one did turn out to be major negligence on Six Flags's part.

Knott's has managed to downplay or worm out of every case where someone got hurt or sick. I was reading the Health Department's list of restaurants that had been cited for failing to meet standards, and the Chicken Dinner Restaurant comes up every time. Once someone got food poisoning, filed a complaint, and Knott's got wrist-slapped to the tune of what, a $1600 fine?

A lot of people have been injured on Ghostrider, and one time a lady got on it and rode it as the first attraction, and it broke her neck. Knott's said she entered the park with a broken neck and chose to ride, ignoring the warnings that the ride wasn't for people with back or neck problems. She was lucky she wasn't paralyzed, but still, for Knott's to blame her and make it look like she was trying to milk them--! So typical!

Kentucky Kingdom was just as bad with their cable break that cut off the girl's feet. They did eventually settle, but although some news reports claimed it was a big amount, I found one that said what it was and it was pitiful payment for a teen who will be missing her foot for the rest of her life. I suspect her attorney advised settling because of the looming bankruptcy...hopefully she collected before that happened. I'm not a big one for frivilous lawsuits, but that one was not frivilous. They were supposed to be oiling the cable, but it was getting so slick from hitting some part on the pole that they were coating it with baby powder to dry it out...duh! Not to mention, they never inspected it in the way Intamin directed.
