Hiya everyone,
So I've been on medical leave for a little over a month now due to my bone tumor in my left leg returning. After the surgery I'm suffering from foot drop because they not only removed bone but also significant portions of muscle and damaged my nerve. I'm in physical therapy now to try and regain strength in my foot and leg but so far it doesn't look too hopeful. I may have to have another surgery called a tendon transfer to attempt to get some movement back into my ankle and foot. Now, here's my question. Currently I work in attractions, where I am clearly standing and walking a lot. I'm in a leg and foot brace and probably will be for a long time (if not forever...).
Now here's my question...does anyone have any clue if they would force transfer me upon my return to work because of this? I'm able to walk but not without my brace. I also cannot do long shifts, I'd be limited to about 6 hours of standing. I'm not sure what the rules are on disabilities and working in attractions, so anyone with insight let me know please!

Re: Force Transfer
Gosh, Duck- sorry to hear the surgery on your leg was so extensive. I can't help you with your question, but I hope the physical therapy improves your leg function and you'll be able to go back to work and be comfortable.

Talk to Cast First Aid and Managers and Scheduling... I am going to do the same thing, due to me having to have chemotherapy. I have a feeling though we'll both be on Restricted Duty for whatever reasons they'll give us. I know I am going to be off my medical leave in October so I am going to get over to Disneyland before that happens...
Good Luck to you.

Just wanted to say thank you all so much for the well wishes! It really means a lot. I'm thankful my tumors are benign, things could be so much worse...I consider myself very lucky!

My best friend has breast cancer. The doctor found another area of cancer has spread. She has to go through another 6 to 8 treatments. She had a few tumors that were cancer in her breast and the tumors went else where. I hope she is to get rid of the cancer. She is only 41.
I hope you are feeling better soon. :)
