Kilimanjaro Safari trivia question

Post by accioetoile » Wed Sep 16, 2009 6:04 pm

My friend was doing trivia, and had a question about the original name of Kilimanjaro Safari. Neither of us could figure it out, and I really just want to know what it is. Does anybody know?

I know, I couldn't find it anywhere online! These were the multiple choice answers:

-Serengeti Safaris
-Wild Africa Safari
-Wild Kingdom Safari
-Lion King Safari
-Disney's Safari Adventure
-Wild Safari

I'm thinking someone screwed up. It may be me, but I believe Kilimanjaro Safaris is one of the few things that hasn't been renamed. Even the concept art for AK used that name.

Just for fun...
- Safari exits right outside the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail - originally Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail

- AK was going to be named Disney's Wild Animal Kingdom but TPTB felt the name would be confused with already copyrighted Wild Kingdom TV show.

- Discovery Island was originally called Safari Village. The original Discovery Island was the name for the small zoo located on the main island in Bay Lake. When that closed, Safari Village was became Discovery Island.

- Conservation Station has been renamed Rafiki's Planet Watch

- Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama! had a working name of Primeval Fair

- Countdown to Extinction is now Dinosaur

On opening day, which I attended, the attraction was called "Kilimanjaro Safari".

Yes, I also know who's buried in Grant's Tomb.
