Jay Silverheels was on Carson and being interviewed as Tonto.
CARSON: How long were you and the Lone Ranger together?
TONTO: Forty years... forty miserable years.
In another bit the Lone Ranger and Tonto have retired. Tonto lives in the barn. The Lone Ranger's wife wants him to get rid of Tonto so he goes to tell Tonto he's gotta move. Tonto says, "But Lone Ranger, I finally find out what kemo sabe mean."
"What's that?" replies the Ranger.
"Mother."
