How prevalent are gamers in Disney-dom anyway?

Are there any get togethers planned?

I wonder how many of the GenCon people are going to try to wear their costumes into the park. Hee! Good luck, Main Gate!

Holy DAM! Is it Gen Con season already? :bang: All 5K of those oddities will be flocking to Anaheim Dec. 2. Really whacked people (IMO) who just love to wreack havoc @ DLR, listen to NO CMs, plot their stupid games, throw trash all over, mess with the guests, dress up as god knows what/who & ride Indy, Mansion, Pirates until they are escorted AFTER closing! Time to prepare for mutant freak show. Why is DLR always the Mecca?

No offense to my Fuzzy friends but...this thought came to mind.

Well since we employ the greatest number of nuts I know of (yes we are all nuts) and dress some of them up as fuzzy creatures. It must send out this magic vibe to all the wierdos out there. Just be glad Anahiem doesn't host a Fur meet or something.....

Hold the phone. Back when I worked at the park (beyond the dawn of time), people were not allowed to enter if they were wearing costumes. Are you saying thats changed?

No it hasn't (The SCA is pissed cause they can't do an organized event in garb cause Disney says it's a costume) I am saying it would be worse if it was an anthrocon or fur meet cause a lot of those people are in fur suits.

What's a GenCon?

I hope it isn't anything too terribly weird or upsetting... as that's when I'll be at the DLR for my Christmastime visit.

Geez, maybe I should cancel while the cancelling is good. :(

Gen Con originated in Geneva, WI. Ya, think abt this one!!! Thus the Gen Con as in Geneva Convention Summit. Think I'm semi correct. Not really upsetting & I doubt you'll even notice the weird. Come on to DLR. CMs will put up with Gen Con nuts. After all...we are VERY USED TO STUPIDITY. :?cares:

I've been to Gencon Indy a few times, and would probably go to Gencon SoCal if I didn't live on the complete opposite side of the country.

You can find out more at: http://www.gencon.com/socalhome.aspx?file=socal

And, yeah, I got plenty of costumes (I do something called live action roleplaying -- very geeky, don't ask). Although it does come in handy. One time, my girlfriend and I were at DW and were able to go to Victoria and Alberts in full Victorian formalwear that we both owned.

The cute part was when we were waiting for a cab to take us back, a young girl pointed at us and asked her father, "who are they Daddy?"
