I do work Small World at Disneyland, and everything Zazu said is true. In fact, with the flume, I know of two CMs in the 2 1/2 years I've been there (there could be more) who have fallen under the flume. One, who got hurt, shouldn't have even been there and was being stupid.

That's what I kept thinking about, I was sure that because his focus was on his boat that kept passing him up, that he was going to fall because he wasn't completely looking where he was going. I kept telling that to my friend, that all he needed was to see that the scenery ended and there he would fall. *shakes head* stupid, stupid people.

Wasn't Small World majorly vandalized about 15 years ago? You'd think they would have installed cameras then.

Yeah, during a Grad Night. They solved that problem by not opening it for Grad Nights until about 2 years ago, now when it's a grad night we have CMs inside the ride to watch the little brats.

I really think that cameras would be a bit more effective, not just for the vandalism, but for safety. Because like Zazu said, if it just fiberglass, and the scenes are elevated, then someone could get seriously hurt, and no one would know until their boat got back. That's just weird to me.

Although, even with a monitor, is there anyway to stop boats other than to hold them at the dock?

If we turn the flume pumps off they'll move more slowly and probably eventually stop, but no not really.
