Back from DLR
Having gone on a quick trip to DLR last sunday (8-23) I managed to get a few pictures (see DLR album in my profile)
We arrive sunday, and dropped the stuff off at the hotel, then got to Disneyland as fast as possible!
CROWDS???? Where did these people come from?? (hehehehehehe)
we (DW and I) normally go jan-apr and sep-nov, plus the first couple of weeks in december.
it has been a number of years since we went in the jun-aug timeframe.
Seriously hot and crowded. we just went to a few attractions, and had some quick food! WE rode HM and experiencved the ENTIRE crowd in the elevator, talking along with the narration! Too funny.
Went to a few more attractions and had some fun. then went back to the hotel during the fireworks. DW had to get up so she could set in a class the next couple of days at a seminar. (guess what I did during the day hehehehhehee)
more later!..

yeah, I hate the talkers in the HM. I wish they would hire the actress they used for the bride to work for 1 week there. dress her up in full bride makeup and costume, have her sneak up to the crowd and scream, SHUT UP! I am only going to AX you once! then run off into the mansion laughing like a mainiac.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Having gone on a quick trip to DLR last sunday (8-23) I managed to get a few pictures (see DLR album in my profile)

You should have seen the convention center, although I am sure DLR was worse.turkeyham wrote:My sister and I were there on Saturday. Park was a zoo.![]()

I hate the talkers as well!drcorey wrote:yeah, I hate the talkers in the HM.
Its great that they are fans of the mansion, but by speaking out loud with the narration, they are ruining the atmosphere for those guests who have never been on the ride before, and there is always a least a few who are vising for the first time.
Glad to hear that you had fun Grumpy.

HEHEHEHE
We always have fun.
The next day, while DW was in "class" I went to Disneyland. The first thing I saw after going in was Chip and Dale with Goofey, having a photo session.
I got a couple of pictures of Chip and dale interacting with kids. One was not too sure about (to him) large furry people. Chip got down and was petting his own arm and the kid went over and touched him, then turned around just long enough for his dad to get a picture before he ran back. pretty good!
As I was about to leave, two (teenage?) girls got up with them to get their picture taken. they were dressed..well, like teenage girls. they both stood on either side of chip, and dale was left out.
Dale went and began beating his head aginst the building and otherwise showing he was a bit upset, then chip came over and gave him a hug! (the crowd went Awwwww!)
Then they both got their pictures taken with the girls. (very good show!!)
It was time for them to take a snack break, so they started to go in, Dale didn't want to (some pictures in the album) and was pulling on the hitching post.
I don't know how long I was there, but it was worth it just watching them perform.
more later..

Re: Back from DLR
and back.
I had a great day monday walking around and talking with the CM's. I did go to Pixie hollow and get my picture with Iridessa and Tink. (of course DW has never seen them because they go in before she gets out of class, hehehe)
while walking around, I decided to take the monorail to DTD so that I could make some dinner reservations at Rainforest (one of DW's favorite places)
as I approached I saw a bit of SG activity, several women were standing right in the enterance had cigarettes out. but they hadn't lit them.
AS I got closer, I said excuse me, and they just looked at me blankly. I pointed to the enterance and told them I need to go that way. One stepped aside and as I passed, I did the "oh, and no smoking!" one of them said to the other, "see I told you" (hehehehehhe)
AS I got up to the monorail, it was just finishing loading so I waited a bit. while I was standing there a couple came up with two boys (about 7 and 9 years old) they were wearing the "first visit" buttons.
So I asked them how they like it so far. The mom said that she could hve done without the crowds the day before, but today was looking good. AS the monorail pulled in, one of the boys told me that theis was the first time that they were riding the monorail.
the only other people waiting were near the back (we were right at the front) so as the CM opened the gate, I told them that they should ask to ride up front. The pilot was walking towad us and the dad asked, and she said that she had room for all.
needless to say the boys were amazed and the parents told me that they didn't know it was permitted. I told them that all they had to do was ask the pilot, and the pilot would know if someone else was riding, and so on.
as you can see in my album, they were focused on the ride all the way to the stop. I think that Pilot made the kids visit something to remember!
I talked with the pilot and got her picture (not in the album) and she was very interesting to talk with, she had even heard of SGT.
Hmmmm....
more later. (and I did get dinner reservations)

Sounds like you had a fun day, GP. Are you sure you don't want to share the picture of you with the pixies??? :D:
And good for you for sharing the monorail tip with the newbies. They'll be talking about that for a long time.
