It must have been a 33 RPM record playing at 78. :D:

Somewhere I still have the Mouse Factory record (33 RPM) that I used to listen to when I was but a wee little thing.

My kid doesn't know what life was like before iPods... or VCRs. I remember if I missed the Muppets when it was on once a week that was it.

Now my cat has shows recorded for him on the DVR (Animal planet on demand and he does demand it)...

I still have a whole bunch of 33 1/3 LP's from the 70's,

and recovered some 16 1/2 LP's from Boston when we cleaned out DW's stuff left to her by her mom.

When I was a kid we used to take LPs and 45s and listen to them at different speeds. It was hilarious. We had a phonograph that had several speeds, 16 1/2, 33 1/3, 45, & 78 RPM. We'd listen to a song on its regular speed, then listen to it again at 16, 45, and 78. If it was slow, it sounded like Smokey the Bear was singing it, really fast it sounded like the Chipmunks were singing it fast because they had to go to the bathroom so they sung fast to finish the song so they could go. :D: Ahhhh, kid's imaginations back then....

Apparently, the trains have different spiels you can choose from if you have the right privileges. Coral has that one spiel switched, and it was recorded by one of our pilots. The first time I heard it, I didn't know what to think. Coral's been in the helium tank, I guess.

Well I'll tell you that it was just hilarious to me. every time I heard it i couldn't help but just laugh. So thanks to the monorail pilot with the sense of humor who recorded Coral's spiel, wherever you are I salute you!

Uh, no uh... that's how he really talks. Seriously. Now the fact that you expect the regular spiel and get that one, along with the fact that it is the only switched spiel on the train, doesn't necessarily help.

oh no, come on you can't be serious...

but...wait! The...what do you call it...the ding-dong noise- the...chime thingy! (thanks March for that) was higher pitched like the whole recording was sped up too. I have perfect pitch, I notice these things!!!

Well, it is possible that something was wrong with the spiel. We've had the PSCOTD spiel play continuously, "ding" seven times, play in slo-mo... we've even gotten the Epcot spiels on the Resort line. But Coral does have a different spiel, and compared to the OG one, it sounds quicker and um... squeakier. IDK if the guy who recorded it is on here, but if he is he knows who he is and I mean no offense for the next sentence. Coral sounds like a leprechaun.

The trains essentially have a couple sound systems each... one for regular spiels and one for Jack Wagner's bit and the chimes. I can't remember the names of them now. Oh, well. But someone had been messing with the sound system Jack is on in Coral. They finally got his voice right, but the chime is still off.
