Re: Monorail personalities
Somewhat on the topic, yes, they have differing personalities. Each one acts differently. Some act differently out of different cars.
Gold is at it's best from my experience from cab 6, if only because you are right next to a problem cab door. It is also my favorite monorail.
Red is the fastest, but I really haven't drove it too much because I expressed a dislike of it early on. Perennially recycling doors, phantom overspeeds, coordinated propulsions. A lot of that has to do with how you drive it though. Those who know how to drive it have no problems. I feel that whenever Monorail_Red gets down here though, he'll probably want to change his SN. :p:
Silver hates everyone and everything. I call it the "failorail", and "the little train that could NOT". It is an "honest" train however, it acts the same out of both cabs. It will drive without problem as long as you are easy on it, but God help you if you beat on it.
Yellow, for me at least, acts the most different out of different cabs. In cab 6, it slides. Where in cab 1, I have drove it when the brakes seemed very good.
Black is a good monorail. The screen will go white of you let it sit, but I feel that has something to do with programming, and prehaps a screensaver that never was disabled. It was my favorite monorail until I got to drive Gold, Black was the first I ever drove as well.
Coral is an odd monorail. It was a very good monorail when I first started driving. I spent much time in int and Pink the first 2 months of driving. Then one day it "turned into Yellow" as I put it, since Yellow slid horribly while I was in training and almost cost me a checkout. And now it likes propulsions. Likes them a lot.
Blue is an okay monorail. It isn't as good as black or gold, but it isn't a bad monorail at all. An occasional propulsion, other than that not much that was it's fault.
Orange is on the same level as blue IMO. It generally drives okay, but sometimes slides. Most of the time it doesn't slide for me, but apparently some drivers have it slide in one cab and not in the other. I never noticed a noteworthy difference personally. On the other hand, orange gave birth to the phrase "very visible odor".
Lime seems to either work, or not. I can't recall anything major being wrong with it, but the first monorail I ever saw towed was Lime. If there's something fundamentally wrong with lime, it isn't severe enough to take it to shop... or perhaps it is always just outshined by Silver.
As for Green... Green was always a good train for me. I liked it. Well, I didn't like it when I was on the platform, but in the cab it was good to me. It seems to either dislike the guys from Shop, or really likes the company of the Maintenance guys.

Re: Monorail personalities
I will have to try out these new monorails tomorrow. I am going to DCA and DL to play in the park.
About the registers, I have heard that if you move the moniter, the stupid system will reset and cause the CM to cry. I have heard some things that DL needs to get better registers. My friends who work at Ralph's say that they have Matra and POS. They have the same system, but it is IBM.
Target wanted to toss the registers out of an airplane and break them in a far off country. What a great way to reduce stress. ;)

Speed Freak is somewhat correct......
Red is an evil little girl who hates everyone... kind of like a red headed girl friend.. She can be jelouse and takes it out on her drivers....

Doctor - Please say it isn't so :(
Maybe Monorail Red just needs a friend. That's what I'm here for.

No, have never heard of this nor had it happen, & I'm always moving the screen up. Maybe in DCA.turkeyham wrote: About the registers, I have heard if you move the moniter, the stupid system will reset.

It could happen if the monitor cable moves the motherboard inside the chassis.Main Streeter wrote:No, have never heard of this nor had it happen, & I'm always moving the screen up. Maybe in DCA.![]()

Re: Monorail personalities
Totally agree hobie, certainly could & possibly has happened. Mess with the motherboard & it will call fowl everytime. Just never heard of Matra monitor move causing a reset. Matra monitors can only be moved so slightly. A tad up & down is it. If my screen freezes & must be reset, I'll think of you. :( ;)hobie16 wrote:It could happen if the monitor cable moves the motherboard inside the chassis.
