But actually, I think it is Purple that used to have the deltas. Don't quote me, I'll get an answer today.
Speaking of Lime...boy would I like to see it get the blue deltas back. Looked neat IMO. Plus, last time I was in the World, the paint was chipping and the old blue deltas started to show through!

It's just a random pic that somebody would want to photoshop. Looking to putting this one to rest. You know BW, I've been loosing sleep over this one!*

It did look ugly then, but from looking at old pics, it looks like when Lime was repainted they used a different shade. When it had the blue deltas it had a more of a pear-green stripe. I could be wrong but this is what it looks like to me:

Lime before repaint:
____________

Lime after repaint:
____________

So with whatever color Lime is now, that with some blue deltas would contrast pretty nicely IMO:
____________

Has there ever been thoughts of doing this? Either glowing stripes or color coordinated beam lighting?

Well, sort of...the strobe lights on the top of the trains have 3 different color settings just so it's easier to tell which trains are on which beams.

Amber strobe = Resort Monorail
Green strobe = Express Monorail
Red strobe = Epcot Monorail

There's also a white strobe above the headlights. The headlights are on in the cab that's active, and the strobe flashes on the inactive cab.

correct, but not quite what i meant. Those are functional.

I meant like having the stripe glow decoratively--something like Space Mountain's side of the car--to see it glowing at night as it travels around the lagoon.

As for the under-carriage lighting, i was thinking something like neon or LEDs with colors that matched the stripe to make the glow.

Kinda like a low rider or pimp mobile?

I am looking at the monorails. Which ones are newer and how can you tell if they were recently painted. You guys have me lost here.

Going back with the Navy Blue Monorail vs Orange, the blue one looked new to me.

The monorails at Disneyland look much different. The old ones had clear windows, but now these news ones look like they are tinted a blue to purple window color.

You say that like it's a bad thing. :D:
In theory yes - but without the thumping or rattling. I'm sure D could pull it off in a nice way.

I do think the MkVIIs look neat with their interior:

That picture is several years old, and we're trying to figure out if that is Monorail Blue or Purple and if it did have deltas (white spaces) at one point, or if it's just Monorail Lime photoshopped.

As to the painting, we went a little off topic there. We were just talking about Monorail Lime and the blue deltas it once had.

Not sure how we got into the lighting...hehe :D:
