CDS 3.0
Who hates it, ME, I think that this new 3.0 is the stupidiest thing that has been done in the past year at Disney's California Adventure. I hate it you clock in a minute late and they have to mark you late, you have to wait until you walk time to actully clock out from the computer itself
. One night we closed really early and so we were back in the lead office at like 9:15 i wasnt off until 10:00 so i couldnt clock out until 9:40, thats 25 mins that im sitting in the lead office waiting to clock out :bang: . With the old cds i could have left and went to schedling or went to talk to my manager or just did something besides waste my time sitting in the lead office... I hate 3.0, but i guess were stuck with it..

I've hated CDS ever since it was first installed. CDS is one of those things that's bad for everybody. First the cast gets frozen in positions, second the manager is never around when you need them because they are babysitting the computer and the coordinator is nowhere to be found because they are on the other computer. Also it takes anywhere from 20 to 30 more people to operate the attraction because of CDS. Also don't get me started on the clocking in/out of CDS because it's just stupid. I much prefer the timeclocks.
Elvis didn't do no drugs!
That kind of stinks about having to clock in at location by your start time exactly, but I think the walk time bit is fair, unless you need to go to scheduling, seems like your lead has no way of getting around the damn computer. Wow 20 more people per attraction! That money could be used so much better elsewhere, like on cleaning the park (hell if they gave us 10 more people at any given time it would be a ton cleaner and a hell of a lot easier) or painting it. Fortunately we only have to check into the custodial office by our start time, which is like a 60 second run form harbor point, but its common courtesy to show up in your work location within 10 minutes of your start time so there isn't any gap. People take advantage of it and show up in dtd 20 minutes after their start time, when it only really takes about 7 minutes to get there. Witnessed it last night, some woman didnt start *working* till she had been on the clock for 50 minutes.

I think was soarin is getting oat for example there are many morinings where everyone is waitint to log in and you might not be able to log in till 1 minute after your start time but when that happens with CDS 3.0 it wont let you log in and you are automaticaly marked late and then the lead has toe contact the managers to clear it....really dont see how this version is more lead friendly then the previous

It doesn't really mark you late it just puts a little red mark by your name and the lead decides do mark you late or not. Fantasyland just got it last week and it really sucks. Leads have to call the designer to change things like OPT tasks and it is not really easy to change anything. And it looks like crap too.

Sheesh I can't think of the last time my break was only 15 minutes
. One of our leads actually makes the breaker's coverage schedule so that they cover someone's area while they're on break for 30 minutes starting 5 minutes before the time on the sheet and leaving the area 10 minutes after the break is over...Of course when you want to unwaive the lunch on a 6.5 or 7 hour shift he doesn't call it in.
