No, THAT doesn't sound funny. I've suffered myself from eating too much sugar-free stuff myself(silver-wrapped sugar-free milk chocolate bars from DLR:eek :) that I was relating the GI distress to something like that. I didn't realize the cake was causing that much distress, since you kept eating it over a 2-week period.
Maybe it was the external distress rather than the cake.
