Damn, I'm on the wrong coast! I've been there five years now and don't make that.

Of course, I had 28 years experience as a railroad conductor before I started with Disney, so that's helped... I guess....

Well cost of living here is way higher, so that's why we are paid more.

Edit: My one year at DLR is today so now my wage is $8.23. :D

^^Five completed years at disneyland would land you a rate of $10.74, varying a few cents between the depts that share the common contract (pretty much everything but entertainment and food and guest relations). Then your raises stop and you just get cost of living raises or lead premium ($1 over the 5 year completed rate, $11.74, no matter if you've worked there 1 or 5 years).

Damn, I feel shafted. I started out at 7.21, but now Im at 10.86 with only the cost of living increase to look forward to next march. A whole 3% which will put me at 11.21. Yea, that what I get for 6 years of service. I really need to leave.

You can manage. I've worked, gone to school AND held down a Disney Job. Depending on what your school shedule is, and/or is likely to be, you might look into different areas, such as parades and shows, because you get regularly scheduled hours there. Or if flexible is better, any other area of the park can work out well.

Be sure to become good buds with the schedulers - they're the people who can switch shifts for you when you're scheduled against your availability (which happens a lot).
