I was saddened at hearing of Mr. McMahon's passing. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones. :(

And so goes an era. Wow. But I suspect Johnny's happy to have his longtime sidekick back with him.Tara_Lee3 wrote:http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainmen ... at_86.html

He and Johnny were my late-night dates for years :)

I can hear it now, at the Pearly Gates, "And heeeeerrrrr's Eddie!"

When I saw it on the news today, the only thing that ran through my head was Weird Al Yankovic's classic song, "Here's Johnny", which is about Ed McMahon. You know you've really made it if Weird Al parodies you, or if you've been around, you know you still have it.
But it was his time, you know--he went through WWII as a Marine pilot, then played second fiddle for years, and was Johnny's sidekick for 30 years. Then he went into foreclosure until The Donald rescued him, then came bone cancer. He fell and broke his neck, was in a nursing home and sued them for stuff, and when you've lived most of your life a success and things start to fall around your ears, that's it. There was just no place else for him to go but to his rest. He earned it.
Sleep well, Mr. McMahon.

Ed was cool. I would stay up to watch the Johnny Carson Show. "Here's Johnny." It is so sad that he passed suddenly. RIP ED. :(

Johnny now has his side man back with him. The Tonight show is in heaven. Am sure the venue will always be packed. RIP Mr. McMahon.
