I can fully believe this one. Back at a company that I use to work for I had to order a part for a machine I was working on. This conversation took place:
Note: Brackets in place of old company codes/acronyms for things.


Me: I need to have [company part number] shipped down to [office code].

Parts person: Why? I'm showing that you have 2 in your [regional distribution point].

Me: Yes, but [regional distribution point] is in Atlanta, that's 4 and a half to 5 hours away. I need it shipped down to me.

Parts person: Why is it so far away?

Me: I don't know, I didn't layout the state..


I got in trouble for being "rude" by saying that..

Once, when I was younger, I told an acquaintance my grandparents were in Pennsylvania. Astonished, they asked why they were there. I then informed them, in a slightly disgusted tone, that they lived there; moreover, not everyone lived in California, and that there were 49 other states in the country and people normally live in them. Sheesh....
