Hey everyone. I'm a new member here who worked at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights XIV...
I was on Cast B for the DisOrientorium house on Marvel Island, a house made up of primarily camoflauge rooms where the costumes blended in with the rooms they were in. We were made up of Checkerboarded suits, color Dot suits, Mylar suits, "Splat suits" (black jumpsuits with paint all over them) Treaks and Foons (those clown-ish characters from HHN 12) and the "Bird People" (Actors in large drapes with bird masks).
As our big send-off for the last set on the last night, we secretly planned to change rooms entirely. Checkerboard people would be in the Dot room, Dots in the Splat room, Treaks in the Bird People room, and bird people in the Treak mirror maze.
However, our stage manager caught wind of this and told us that park officials would be coming through the house that night, and that no "room switching" would be had.
So we made a deal. He said as long as we A.) stayed in our proper rooms and B.) Kept scaring people, we would be okay.
So line-up time came. We all got into our costumes and our ASM led us into the house. She opened the door and let us in.
Once inside, we all changed masks. Treaks were wearing bird masks, Splats were wearing dot masks, Checkerboards were wearing Treak masks.
We got a ton of confused looks as Cast A members switched out with us..
After about a 10 minutes of scaring and confusing guests, our ASM came through the house and told us to switch our masks back.
We had a laugh, but she extended our set about 10 more minutes.
