I saw the Up pre-parade at DCA today. The characters look good in a theme park enviroment.
I'm looking forward to the film.

Re: Up
Pixar's perfect streak at the box office continued this weekend with "Up," which opened to a studio-estimated $68.2 million.
That puts the quirky tale directed by studio veteran Peter Docter just behind the Disney-owned company's biggest films, "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredibles," which both debuted with $70 million. It also puts to rest any fears that a movie starring an old man won't appeal to kids.
Helped by 1,530 3-D screens with higher ticket prices, "Up" came in above last year's "Wall-E," which opened to $63.1 million, and 2007's "Ratatouille," which started off with $47 million. Both those movies went on to gross more than $200 million at the domestic box office, and "Up" will almost certainly do the same.

Re: Up
Saw the film today at Downtown Disney and loved it! Bring tissues,Up has some very heart wrenching scenes.
I saw a non 3D print -if only because the 3D version was sold out at the time I wanted to see it.
Afterward,I went over to Compass Books and bought the DK Guide and the sticker book. Great pictures in both of the books. I also bought the Up pin at the pin trading station.
I can't wait until the plush Kevin doll comes out!

Re: Up
I got to see it opening night with Directing Animator Dave Mullins in 3D. (The film and Dave were *both* 3D, btw.)
My favorite swag: the ball cap with a picture of Carl and the motto, "Must use bathroom 80 times a day." Gonna wear it to my next visit with my urologist.
Oh, and for the smiley collectors here, here:

Re: Up
Saw it today in 3-D with family, definitely bring a few Kleenex with you
Really enjoyable, with some realities mixed in with the fantasy, Hubby and I laughing out loud even during the credits. I absolutely fell in love with Kevin and Dug. :)
Maybe we can have SGT in 3-D someday so I can re-use my glasses!

Check the stores. At World of Disney at DL they had a T-shirt with that saying too. :D:Zazu wrote:I got to see it opening night with Directing Animator Dave Mullins in 3D. (The film and Dave were *both* 3D, btw.)

I am jealous that you got to meet a Pixar animator! The closest I got was seeing John Lasseter,Brad Bird, and various Pixar crew at the Burbank airport in 2004. They had come for the Incredibles premiere. I was too shy to approach them but I sure wish I did!

Re: Up
Would love to meet Lasseter.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
