Absolutely. I'm not closing doors to anything, so at this point, everything is an option.

I'm currently working through a program in Oregon called "Free Geek" which is a program that gives away computers for free - they use Ubuntu. I'm not there for the building per se, but rather, to learn Ubuntu.

Don't get hung up on one Linux distro, I would look into Solaris (a lot of corporate use), and FreeBSD as well. Once you have the idea of how a *nix operates, the various flavors can be learned easily.

I tried six different distros before deciding upon Debian, including Kubuntu. The only differences I could see in them was the Desktop system (I quickly developed a preference for KDE) and whether or not they would boot in all of my old systems. I use the same set of "cheat sheets" someone gave me for all six with equal ease.

On which point, anyone in O-town want to earn a few nickels helping me set up two machines as a high-availability server pair? Or just debug some weird stuff with my network? Cash money available! PM me, please don't post it here.
