Disney Buys Land

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Read almost the same on AOL. $8 million for 15 acres. Will cost $800 million when completed, yet the 400 planned housing isn't selling - don't think that was in the plan.
$880 mill & we're still told @ check in Disney needs money.

It's good to see WDP&R positioning itself for further growth, even in this down economy.
We'll reap the rewards when things improve, I'm sure :D: .

A Disney resort in my backyard? Really? Cool! I'd prefer a good local theme park, but will make do with a simulated volcano and saltwater snorkling. (I assume indoors since it can be bitter cold here in the winter).
Sigh, it seemed like I was the only person in all of the MD/VA/DC area who *wanted* Disney's America.

You may never have met Judy and me. We lived in Annandale and were extremely active in working with the CofC and others. We even attended the fund raiser in the Ramada where the Governor showed up in support. And volunteered at the Price William County Fair. And I have pictures (in a box somewhere) I took at the Haymarket 4th of July Parade where the Big Cheese was the Grand Marshal.
Re: Disney Buys Land
No, probably not. I didn't do any activism. I was living in Maryland at the time.Cheshire Figment wrote:You may never have met Judy and me.
Thanks for trying though...

Do a re-read of the article Buggy.
No volcano and snorkeling in YOUR backyard. :(

The area in question is about an hour drive away from my house around the beltway, assuming non-rush hour traffic. Compared to the time it takes to get to Orlando, Anaheim, Paris, or Tokyo, that's practically in my backyard.Near Philly wrote:Do a re-read of the article Buggy.

It will be closer to my house than any amusement park, including Six Flag's America.
