Park Maps and Languages

Post by hhsrat » Sat May 09, 2009 8:10 pm

Actual answer I gave to a guest today: "No sir, I'm sorry, the park map is not available in Klingon"

(That guest scared me, just a little bit)

WHAT!!!

How dare you not make Park Guidemaps available in the most honourable Klingon language! If Klingon-speakers can have Hamlet published in their language, they can most certainly have Walt Disney World Resort Park Guidemaps! *rambles on in Klingon*

Sorry, was a Trekkie when I was younger :o: .

Well, everyone knows Hamlet is better in the original Klingon.

If there's ever a Star Trek convention at WDW I hope they make park maps in Klingon for it.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

For my next trip to California I am going to take a bunch of MK maps with me, including some Spanish and Japanese.

The foreign language ones I will slip into the map holder at City Hall. The others I will just stick in random map holders. And I might even confuse some CMs by standing near an attraction and not understanding why another attraction, as shown on the map, is right next to it. Such as standing at BMTRR and trying to find Splash, and asking people while holding the map open.
