I SO second this. Mmmmmm, poutine.glendalais wrote: But really, poutine is comfort food à la québécoise. Particularly when you get a well-done, freshly made one and you can taste the warm french fries with the dripping gravy, and hear the squeak of the cheese curds.......

We have a guy who transfered up to Ottawa from Texas. I had to talk him into trying poutine. He tried it, loved it and now can not stop eating it. He claims if for some reason he ever lost his job here he would move back to Texas and start a chip truck selling Poutine. He mentioned it would be just like Crack he would have to give the first sample for free but then he would be just rolling in the money.

Actually the best Canadian show in quite a while has been Corner Gas, which was a joint CTV and Comedy Channel production. Who knew life in small town Saskatchewan could be so funny? Sadly, the show just finished its last season.glendalais wrote:Odd....from what I remember growing up, Global was mainly where you went when you wanted to watch American shows but on a Canadian channel.
This kind of original, Canadian-produced, Canadian-oriented content that's not aired at 3 in the morning in an attempt to meet the letter of the CanCon regulations is more the CBC's sort of thing.

Just a heads up. :)DisneyMom wrote:I saw something on the news last night about two guys who started up a company recently with the slogan, "Everything should taste like Bacon".
The products mentioned last night were their bacon-flavored salts, mayonnaise and lip balm!![]()
