A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

...or a vocalist by her appearance.

BBC Scotland wrote:A 47-year-old church volunteer from West Lothian has become an unlikely overnight singing sensation with millions watching her perform online.
Susan Boyle, from Blackburn, stunned judges on ITV's Britain's Got Talent with her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on Saturday.
Wow...just wow.

The first time I watched that I thought it was going to turn out that it was a lip synch. She's fantastic, but someone needs to get at her eyebrows.

They interviewed people at the pub where she does karaoke, and all of the people there said they are not suprised that she won.
I think someplace else, a comment was that a bit of a makeover, and she could be singing on broadway.

The complete about face from the judges, and the audience members, was fantastic. Like the one judge said, "We were all laughing at you, but no one's laughing now. That was a wake up call!" It's so very, very true. She doesn't conform to the 'look' she should, so she can't possibly be telling the truth about her talent...! Go Susan!

It was wonderful to see the video and hear her beautiful voice! :)
She seems like a very sweet and good humored person as well. I saw her on GMA this morning and she said that she wouldn't object to a little makeover, so she may be giving us more surprises. ;)

I normally don't click these, watch too much youtube etc. I had to see what the hype was. WOW! I would like to hear her sing other stuff, if she has the same caliber with other songs, Simon would be smart to sign her up.

Saw this yesterday, and then had to show it to family. Talk about a surprise! I don't know what's more charming -- the judges'/audience reaction to her, or her absolute delight at receiving all the praise from them. You can tell when Ant & Dec are talking with her at the end, the judge's comments didn't sink in with her the first time, and she's hearing them for real all over again.
I have to say, though, my favorite moment in the whole video comes at about 4:25, when Simon Cowell, of all people, is so caught up in the moment that he lets slip a genuine, unguarded smile at the performance. It's not something you see very often.

A newspaper in the U.K. uncovered this recording of her singing ten years ago for a charity CD:

Her voice is absolutely amazing! I am a huge Broadway fan and would be happy to pay to see her on stage. She is set for life now, and she well deserves it. I really don't see her as hideously ugly, though, just plain. This was all very well orchestrated by that show, but that's the norm with any reality show, and I'm glad that someone with such obvious talent will benefit. I pity the other contestants...may as well just pack up and go home now.
