? About Bay Lake Tower

Post by Monorail_Red » Mon Mar 30, 2009 12:21 pm

Just have a quick question about Bay Lake Tower...

So I have 4 nights booked in August :D: , and I was just wondering if anybody knew what the standard view was? I know that it's not a view of Bay Lake or the MK...so my only guess would be towards the Contemporary or TTC? (I'm trying to picture the horseshoe design)

Thanks for your help! :)

I think there is really only views of bay lake or the 7 seas lagoon. I don't know how you could get placed to see neither except maybe a couple rooms see both?

Despite working next door, I haven't yet been inside, nor have I seen the room charts, but I'll hazard a guess.

"Standard View" is normally a view of the parking lot, dumpsters, or the service area. You would not be able to see either Bay Lake, the Seven Seas Lagoon, or the Magic Kingdom from a Standard View room.

From something I overheard today, I believe they would all be on the outside of the three lowest floors, but that's just an educated guess.

If you want to stay in the BLT for its location, and won't be spending any time looking out the windows, a Standard View would probably work fine. OTOH, if you have any plans to stay in the room and enjoy the balcony, I'd suggest you move up a grade.

Now here I'm *really* going out beyond visible support, but I suspect that the better rooms will be divided into "Water View" and "Park View", with the latter being more expensive. Note that "Water View" would also include rooms that overlook the pool, but not the lake.

So far, only managers, groups cast, and room assigners have gotten the details. I'll try to share what I learn as it comes to me, but I may be a ways down the clue list.

I saw the charts, but it was a while back. Those rooms, if I remember right, are the ones that look only on the building, toward the inside of the horseshoe shape, or toward the interior courtyard, with no view of Bay Lake or MK.

Zazu is probably right as well, regarding the dumpsters and stuff.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

That should answer your questions.
Wow, thoes are the most recent pictures I've seen. Last time I saw the structure in person was last August when Fay happened...I remember seeing the wood from the scaffolding falling down from the winds

The building is horseshoe in shape. The interior of the horseshoe has pools and other amenities. Rooms in this horseshoe area look east toward Bay Lake or at each other.

Rooms on the outside of the horseshoe look west toward the Contemporary and toward the monorail and toward MK and Seven Seas Lagoon.

I would go with Zazu's idea that it would be lower floors that would not have a good view of MK, the bay or the lagoon.
