Update Training

Post by BohoRoohaha » Thu Oct 21, 2004 12:06 pm

Hey what do i do if i want to get trained on something? And if its stuff i could use outside of work or at another job might as well get trained for free here, right? like CPR training, driving and operating the lift for swing utility, or how to use that Artifical Defilbulator thing (i can't remember what its called but they're in a red box on the walls, everywhere). who would i talk to if i wanted to become a restroom lead, trainer, or lead? just wondering, thanks!

Umm, we are taking lead applications in our area right now till the 30th, as well as trainer applications. And I all but guarantee you any female who becomes a trainer will also become a restroom trainer. Even if you haven't been here 6 months you should apply for trainer because a lot of people will not be able to get it due to more than 5 attendence "entries" in the past 6 months. I think call continuous and tardies may count as an entry. Lead requires a bit more experience, unlikely that anyone with much less than 1 year could get it, but they are a little less strict about attendence (as long as you haven't gone over on points and gotten a verbal in past 6 months or a year, i forget which, or for any reason, you're good).

For Defibulator training, they do offer this to all cast members, I have seen it on the portal before. Don't know when, but its probably at TDA. Ask maybe the disney university or cast health. I believe you need a manager to approve you going to this. Not sure about CPR, but I have been told that you may not use cpr if you are a normal cast member. Don't know if thats true.

As for swing utility, if you want to operate the lifts (wow they look complicated...its a freegin joystick!) talk to charlene. Don't get your hopes up because you are not a B and if they reduce Swing utility back to 4 people from 8 when night custodial gets more cast members or is relieved of doing the food cast members job of the light cleaning you will have a very very slim chance of ever being on swing utility.

I can't wait till we do update training again, it only happens once a year, probably in January like last year. we get retrained on blood borne pathogens (stupidest video from wdw...ever) and ride access control, usually at rocket rods or super star limo. I hope its still a 4 hour class and not 2 or some crap like that followed by a real shift. I also hope Pricilla is the trainer and I hope she brings the candy spread she did last year!!!

Bohoroohaha, did you get your "Serving the Diverse Guest" class yet? I know we're putting a few people in there at a time again. Anyways, a decent class, we all put up a fight when the powerpoint said "take 10" halfway through the video :P
