Should my wife request a GAC?

Post by StupidGuestPrick » Mon Mar 23, 2009 7:36 pm

I think my wife should ask for a GAC, but she is reluctant, because she looks normal.

She had breast cancer and is now on an experimental hormone chemotherapy that gives her horrible pain in her arches, bad leg cramps and general arthritis. She is only 42 and looks good. We have been to Disney 10 times but she is worried that she is not going to have a good time due to the standing on her feet.

What do you think?

Absolutely ok. I wonder if her medications also cause sensitivity to the sun and if the GAC might help with that.
Tell her to not worry about anyone else and enjoy her visit :)

The GAC is for guests with hidden disabilities and is given to brand new babies as well as old folks. No doctor's note is needed and she just has to say her limitations such as no stairs and tires easily.

Rent her an ECV in the parks as they will save her energy and pain.

PLEASE please go there as we are caring people with lots of answers and tips and things that can help her get over her limitations and have fun. Sue and Cheshire are sweet people who will help her there.

My advice is to contact her doctor before you leave and find out what limitations that she would have in such an enviroment.

GAC's are good for all kinds of things but can be limited to park to park. Whats good for one park as a reason for GAC may not be the same for all parks... If you are staying on property.. i suggest that you get a ECV from outside the park system.... such as Walker Mobility, AA Turist Rental... etc.. ( PM if you want phone numbers.. their is a rental Co. next to where i live that is about 25.00 a day vs the parks 60.00 a day ) and they deliver to anywhere.

Cheers......
