Hard to believe but it's been a year already.
I started working for the Mouse on March 22, 2008 and it is already March 22, 2009 so today is my 1 year anniversary.
One year already, my time flies when you're having fun. There's been a few minor bumps naturally but the last year has been enjoyable for the most part. I've never had so much fun at a job as I have with this one. I've had my share of stupid guests but by far the majority of guests have been wonderful (or at least tolerable).
Here's hoping this next year is as enjoyable as the last has been.
I'm looking forward to going in to work later, hopefully my homeroom manager is on top of things and I get my service pin.
Now it is time for me to go to bed so I'll have enough sleep for my shift. Good night!
One year at "The Most Magical Place On Earth", wow.

Congrats, Shorty! Here's to many more happy years :D: !
Just a heads up though, you'll get a Service Pin eventually, but it might take awhile. My Service Pin didn't arrive until about 3 months after my anniversary, and it took a few months after that to get to me since I had transferred to Attractions (it was sent to Food & Beverage).
But it's certainly something to Celebrate, lol *cues Corbin Bleu*.

Thanks!. A coworker who's anniversary was the other day got her service pin that day so I'm hoping for the same thing. We'll see.

Around here, it all seems like it depends on how much the MOD likes you. I don't think they liked me at Safari, for several reasons, this being one. I had to go hunt mine down. Two days later, they made a big deal about someone else's anniversary at Track Talk.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Shorty82,
21 years on Thursday.
Have fun, it's Spring Break! The crowds are big here. :)

Congrats on the 1-year anniversary! :)

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I never doubted you'd make it. You have too much pixie dust in your system to work anywhere else anyway.Shorty82 wrote:I started working for the Mouse on March 22, 2008 and it is already March 22, 2009 so today is my 1 year anniversary.

I didn't get it yesterday but I talked to a few coworkers who have been here a while and they said they never heard of it taking more than a few days to get the service pin.glendalais wrote:Just a heads up though, you'll get a Service Pin eventually, but it might take awhile.

Thanks! I never did enjoy working at AutoZone as much as I've enjoyed working here. I love interacting with the guests and making magic.Zazu wrote:I never doubted you'd make it. You have too much pixie dust in your system to work anywhere else anyway.
Edit: Talking about enjoying my job. I just called to see if I could start early. I never did that at AZ but here I'll extend and/or start my shift early sometimes if I can, especially if I have a short shift. I'm scheduled a short shift today but I'm going in early to get a few more hours.

Hey Shorty, Congratulations on your first year, and may there be many, many more magical years to come.
I can't believe it's been a year already since you realized your dream and moved to Orlando. It sure is a lot easier to make that move when you are unattached and don't have a house and a herd of critters to take care of. I'm still hoping that some day....... :)
We'll be seeing you sometime between May 9-15th and again in November. I'll email you when the date gets closer. I miss having a buddy to do Disney chats with. My friend Karen whose son Erik was injured in a car crash has finally made plans for another WDW trip in December. Erik is progressing slowly but really wants to visit WDW and that has been his incentive and reward for working hard on his rehab.
See you soon.
