glendalais's BIG Move (Part II)

Post by glendalais » Mon Mar 16, 2009 2:06 pm

Well. How to put this.......I recently applied for a certain programme offered by Disney as a development opportunity and....

Heck, let me just get to the bone of the matter, effective 20 May (assuming everything goes according to plan *crosses fingers/arms/legs/toes*), I will be leaving Tomorrowland Attractions and the Disneyland Resort.

I'll be transitioning to a new role in, oddly enough and in what is probably a stroke a karma, Quick Service Food & Beverage at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Yes, I did apply to Florida's CP. Yes, I did get accepted. Yes, I am coming :D: . No, I don't know if this is a permanent move, lol.

I will miss the DLR, though I am looking forward to this new opportunity in a new environment. From an SGT POV, I will definetely miss watching SGT East's invasion of our tiny resort this September and seeing the wonder as they tour Walt Disney's Original Magic Kingdom, though I will hopefully have the chance to meet them before they leave :D: .

I'm so excited, lol.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

You know, I love No/Cc attractions and I want to open ariel. But...sooner or later I want to work at TDOrlando. I think it would be amazing. Or be a manager at Animal Kingdom. Just a dream.

I know its a silly question, but are they gonna help you with a move and/or transportation?

Congratulations!!!! I had a feeling you'd be cast. You'll have to keep us posted where you end up working - I'll have to drop by the next time I'm down working!

Although it's been a few years since my CP, I'd be happy to answer any questions about the program.

Not a silly question at all! CP participants are responsible for their move/airfare to and from Orlando. WDWCP does offer bus transportation for CPs to work locations, though they may bring their car if they wish. Transportation (bus) is also provided for local shopping/errands (Walmart, etc.) and depending on the location of your housing, some shopping is usually within walking distance. I lived at Chatham Square and we often walked to Walgreens, Publix and the outlets - but also appreciated those roomies/neighbhors who had a car and often offered to drive :)

Dude, are you trying to follow us around by going to WDW first to make it look like we are following you, when in reality you are following us?

Congrats!
