Guest Complaints

Post by Stduck » Sun Oct 24, 2004 3:40 am

I'm not sure if this is break room or SGT so I'll post it here. Moderators feel free to move it.

Mansion wheelchair procedures are as follows:
If a guest needs the attraction stopped they must be escorted to Load by the ER cast member (this includes ALL electric wheelchairs and EVC)
If a guest can transfer from a wheelchair to the buggy without it being stopped the proceed to load with the rest of the guests.

I was a load 1 and I see a wheelchair approaching so when they get to me I hold them up and ask how many in their party. They inform me the number and tell me they need it stopped (ok stupid cast trick here, should have been walked down) and they want the wheel chair vehicle. We don't have one. I put the attraction in creep mode because all wheelchairs coming onto the load belt must enter in creep mode.

It took me a bit to get them on the belt (WE NEED IT STOPPED!!!) Yes I know let me do my job. So not to make the stop a lengthy one I attempted to load the rest of the party and the load 2 cast member was informed of the needed stop. There are two girls about 7 at the front of the party and I am saying "Right this way please" to get them to step into the buggy. I repeat myself 5 or 6 times before I raise my voice to get their attention I then repeat "Right this way please!" (when I raise my voice I can sometimes sound short).

They looked shocked a cast member had "yelled" at their kids. If they had listened to me I wouldn't have raised my voice. The load 2 cast member stops the ride and helps the party out. I hear them saying "We have to get her name" I'm thinking great just what I need. The cast member told me they asked him for my name he told them to look at my name tag (thank you so much!!!).

So anyway they weren't happy with me. I was a little upset knowing they were going to march to city hall. I told Dennis the lead the first chance I got so he was aware. Later that evening Bryan the manager comes over to talk to me. Well at first he thought it was the other cast member bearing my name (he looked a little shocked that I had a complaint). I tell him my side of the story he told me the party seemed more then a little upset. He asked me to write a statement which I did and asked me if I remembered who was at load 2. They also wrote a statement.

Sorry to hear that. I get pretty pissed off when people don't listen to me the second or third time. I can't imagine 5 or 6.

I'm glad I don't work in guest relations. I would not be physically able to smile and act concerned with someone who was lying/exaggerating/or overreacting.

one time i was working in a building (F&B) where we have little tiny screens to hear the guests order through (we're behind glass, a precaution against guests i guess) and a kid came up asking for something, so i say clearly through the window "would you please repeat that louder" and the kid wispers it through the screen and i can barely hear him, this continues for about a minute and i'm about ready to reach through the window (because i know he's being a prick) and pull him inside and slap him around a little bit (our equipment is very loud)

it turns out the kid wanted a churro (the were on the opposite side of a pathway that was maybe at most 20 ft wide)

Be nice to LegoDan Legoland Guests are stupidier by far then Disneyland guests. We just have more guests at Disneyland so we see more stupidity.

i'm the one that can't figure out what he's saying, as far as i know it's perfectly normal, and i'm all messed up, i have this theory, that when CM's are out of costume, we become a little stupider, unless we put on out nametags, then we're ok.

i was trying to keep it from getting too long but here's the lengthy version:

I was working at Granny's Apple Fries, when a kid came up to the window asking for something. I could not hear what he said, so i told him to repeat himself but louder, and he repeated himself but i swear he was wispering. I told him to repeat himself again, and i put my ear against the screen that he was wispering through and i still couldn't hear him. By this time i know that he's being a prick and trying to get me mad, it was working but i wasn't going to strangle him, because it's against company policy. So i ask him one more time and i can just barely make out him ordering a churro. I told him that the churros were behind him (across a path that is no more than 20 ft wide)

At most of the stands the guests have to talk loud and clear, otherwise we can't hear them due to our loud machineryin the back

it wasn't really a guest complaint but more of a complaint against a guest and i hope that it is clearer now.
