Are you on drugs??? The one here is way better. I think you're the only person I've heard of preferring Florida's to California's. We actually had waited an hour and a half to see Florida's and were really disappointed and haven't gone back to see it again.

Over all I prefer DLR to WDW, but in this instance I would rather see the Fantasmic! in Florida. It could just be because I absolutely hate the seating in California and so the shows are not being compared solely on the show, but it is currently not possible for me to disregard the seating. Of course the only way I think I could give them a fair comparison is if between the two I had the same angle in the same seat; essentially I would have to record both of them from the same angle with the same settings and watch them on my computer so that I am in the same position and have the same view for both, maybe then I could give a fair comparison. It is possible for California to win overall, but seating and the crowd when you are not watching are always going to make me prefer Florida. This is one of the reasons I hope they are being smart with "World of Color" in DCA and having a system to quickly set up bleachers for it and then quickly remove them at the end of the show. This is Disney, I am sure the Imagineers could come up with something for this, but I may have to wait until it opens to find out because it isn't like I have connections inside the company or anything. :rolleyes:

BTW, it has been determined by the powers that are running the trip that we are leaving on June 5th. This pretty much restricts any meets to being short because I would have used that whole extra day for a larger meet.

I was just down in Florida in Sept. 08, their fantasmic holds more than Disneyland's Fantasmic! Theirs can hold at least 15,000 guests. At Disneyland, it is hard to find spots about 5 minutes before the show. :eek:

I plan to go back in late Feb. 09. When we stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, we could see the fire works from Fantasmic from the Dig Pool and spa. It was really cool. :)

Update on the Character Breakfast: My Mom will most likely want to do one as I have already said, and we normally do it at the Plaza Inn, but I think it may be time for a change and do it in one of the other locations for a change of scenery.

* Disneyland® Park - "Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park" at the Plaza Inn,
* Disney's California Adventure® Park - "Ariel's Disney Princess Celebration" at Ariel's Grotto,
* Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa - Chip 'n Dale Critter Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe,
* Disneyland® Hotel - Goofy's Kitchen, and
* Disney's Paradise Pier® Hotel - Lilo & Stitch Aloha Breakfast at Disney's PCH Grill.
Straight from disneyland.disney.go.com. The only person who would be into princesses at this point is my Mom, not that the rest of us wouldn't be interested in a princess, we just know that nothing could ever come of that relationship. We have also done Goofy's Kitchen, but it has been awhile. I am thinking that if we do one it would be fun to do the Lilo & Stitch Aloha Breakfast.

Not hardly. The Capacity of the Fantasmic! amphitheater is approximately 6,900 seated guests plus room for approximately 3,000 standing guests for a total of about 9,900.

Disneyland claims room for 6,430 "standing guests" plus room for 3,000 more (sitting?) for a total of 9,430, about the same.

No, they are wrong on that. I think theirs can accomodate roughly 5,000 guests.

Zazu, yours is better for seating. At Disneyland you can not stand in certain areas. The cast members get cranky if you try to view the show next to the fences near the Haunted Mansion. :eek:

Look, I'm not making this stuff up. I work for Mickey -- I don't *have* to guess. The numbers in my post came directly from the Cast Portal, and are the official numbers.

Are they off a bit? Perhaps, but the WDW numbers have been blessed by the Fire Marshall and proven by gate counts. I would assume the DL numbers have been as well.

May I ask what source you are using for your numbers?

The fire department, police department, health department, federal government, state government, country government, and mosquito abatement district supersede the whims of Disney and all other businesses. Disneyland has to keep the area in front of the Mansion clear as it is an emergency exit path and it is the main artery to and from Critter Country. They have to legally provide for traffic into and out of Critter Country in case there was something to happen in Critter Country.

This is not nice wording about people who are doing their job. Someone in some government seat of power tells Disney they cannot block the aisle which means some person is posted to keep law breakers moving. CRANKY is not a nice word for people in general. If it was one person who was cranky because of PMS, an annoying spouse at home, an annoying guest, or back problems then the word would be fitting,

Zazu should I go to the time out corner now. CMs are not cranky people but doing their jobs which often are dictated by corporate rules, insurance and government.
