Lasolimu's DLR Trip Report 2009

Post by Lasolimu » Fri Feb 27, 2009 12:06 pm

February Trip:
I am back home from DLR and actually have no exciting new SGTs to report, I saw a lot of the same old stuff that people do, but nothing that is not expected now. Although I do win with best shirt response in the parks. This is not a joke, on Monday as we got off California Screamin' someone walked up to me and asked if he could take a picture of my shirt.

Some of you may have seen me, I was wearing my SGT hat which has a few pins in it, was with a relatively large group(usually there were six of us in line at a ride because one was to young and short to ride and we would never leave him alone) and I yelled Spring Break on California Screamin' a couple of times.

Also, Benny at ToT was awesome, he had the creepy bellhop down. I would have written down every good CMs name, but I always plan to and forget. If I do remember to write down names I forget to go give them compliments.

It was an interesting trip because it was the first I took with a 1 year old. I generally think this it too young to visit the parks, but it was good for him to get out of the state and into other environments. It is interesting to note that he is almost tall enough to ride most things because he is 31 inches, so he may be tall enough by the time he is 2. This also means that we are going to have to worry about whether or not there is an age restriction for rides which I think would be a good thing because there are other risks to the child if they are not through a particular development stage.

I do have to say that it was nice to sleep in my own bed again last night, but I already want to go back which tells me that should just move down there at some point. As it stands I have to wait until June to visit again and I will be getting the birthday button for the first day in the parks and(if it exists) a graduation button(mainly if I can note that it is college on it) for the trip.

I don't know if it's an official restriction, but anything except for Gadget's (and now Autopia, which didn't used to have a height restriction) that has a height restriction, I won't take my daughter on until she is three even if she is tall enough. I think those rides are just too much physically and emotionally, they can be scary. I also know that the Matterhorn used to (many eons ago) not have a height restriction and had an age restriction of 3 years.

Yes, there is a graduation button. It's pretty generic so probably what would happen is you would get lots of questions of High school or College whether you alter it or not. And yes, they're alterable, you just need a sharpie. :)
