I can get a free flu shot from work but the two years I that I did, I got sick within the week after. Now I just take my chances.

It takes 2 weeks for immunity (antibodies) to develop after the flu shot. :(

I got my flu shot, but my wife and daughter did not. Daughter got both Type A and Type B. Wife got Type B from her which developed into Pneumonia and has her sitting in the hospital. Doctor said he has seen numerous cases this year where the patient thinks it is just the flu but as it moved into Pneumonia, they don't get it checked out in time and then the real problems start. They are both convinced now that they need their flu shots every year.

I do feel sorry for her daughter, but not for her. It would have been far better to take the first day off, let the kid's "nerves" calm down, and then give it a try. The fact that she had to go to a hospital tells me it is serious enough that getting Disney to do something should be the least of her problems. Lady, take care of your kid. That doesn't mean dragging her sick around a theme park where she will not only deposit disease to other children and families, but pick up even more from who knows where.

If I am on vacation, I am much quicker to see a physician than home... not because I am sure it's bad, just to make sure.

It's also not Disney's fault that the first hospital they took the daughter to wouldn't treat her. That is the hospital or Urgent Care... and it seems that if they were visiting her in the hospital, the urgent care clinic made the right decision. I notice she doesn't seem to say what was wrong with her daughter.

I really do feel sorry for the child... I bet she'll be accused of ruining the trip for her family for years.

Disney will be smart to do nothing for her. If they give some kind of compensation, she'll be yammering that all over her blog and a dangerous precedent will be set. Sometimes life sucks. Deal with it.

If you have the flu or what looks like the flu before you travel, cancel your vacation if not, stay in your room until you feel like a human again. A puke monster in the park is not pretty.

Sound more like common sense. Today I had me ribs, salad, and fries form Lucilles and there had to be a bit of butter in the corn or salad dressing and soy was somewhere as I got me a belly ache, the rest is TMI. I could have run to a blog and posted that info and said that Lucille's should take care of me.

Instead it was a risk I took and I am paying for it and it was worth it except for like 5 minutes of pain. DEAL WITH IT. Anyone with 4 or 5 people in house can get rotational illness where one person comes home sick then one by one everyone has the bug then as the last one is getting better then another bug comes home.

If a kid is puking in the bus then either the kid gets car sick a lot or is over reacting to the trip. As a parent of such a child I would think about past history of the child and anything unusual recently. If the kid does not get carsick and does not over react then what. Was the kid looking feverish or woozy or not up to speed?

If I did the parks and someone was puking then that is life. Dad could have taken the other kids to the parks. Dad could have stayed iwth the sick kid half the day while mom took the kids to the park. There were options available that she did not use.
